Took his class for History of Ancient Rome and it was really difficult. He tends to go on tangents and his quizzes are too detailed. He expects too much. His exams and quizzes are hard because he knows way too much about the subject and thinks everybody else does too. If you do need help, he is willing to help you during office hours.

I took this class since I was very interested in learning the history of Rome. The class was ALL Lecture! Sometimes his lectures were a little confusing and it seemed he shoved too much info. into one class. He barely ever responded to emails and took a long time to hand papers back. He was helpful during a meeting, but that is it.

Definitely doesn't hand out A's. You have to work a great amount to get those. It helps if you've done the readings and take great notes, because he covers a lot in one class. I just wish the class wasn't totally lecture, because that makes it boring.

Total jerk. Impossible to get a reason for his grades. Never gives back grades so you will never know how you're actually doing. He is very discouraging. Acts like he is doing you a favor by teaching your class.

I used to understand Latin. Not so much his fault as it was the books, but I really wish I hadn't almost failed Latin 1/2 after 4 years of high school Latin. Lectures weren't very clear, and he doesn't check work. Grades are confusing. He doesn't explain memorization, relies too much on kernal charts. If you take this class, FORM A STUDY GROUP!
