Nici grades you on knowledge as well as how much effort you put in...I bombed the first test, I worked HARD, & he passed me for my effort. This is not a sit-back-and-chill class. Classes are heavy but he makes the topic fun. Print out the study sheets online prior to classes. You won't need a book but make frends for notes. Don't skip, he notices.

Comment:

Nici was a terrific professor. Many people think his class is hard but he's very straightforward as to what he wants as answers on his test. It is a lot of memorization but there are plenty of tricks to use for memorization. He is definitely an easy A if you put in just the slightest bit of effort.

For an art history teacher like him, I'd say that he's a decent one. But only you'll do good in class if listening and taking notes during the lectures. The exams may be difficult, but he'll give you a study chart and class writing assignments to have you covered. A textbook is important to look for art. And the paper is more confusing though.

He's a great teacher. He knows how to make the art interesting and cares about feedback from the students. I think he's a fair grader. If you ask him questions he's always willing to help out. He is not an easy A. If you want to do well in class you need to work hard. By the end of the semester I felt like I had really learned a lot.

tough grader, a lot to memorize ,i get A on my both paper,but low grade on the test,end up with a c+. The is vocabulary section on the exam,but you have to guess what are the vocabulary during lecture, no list given ,he wouldn't tell you which one is gonna be the vocabulary,so take a lot of note during lecture.

He's a very tough grader but he gives second chances, and many other chances. I got a A+ on the essay because he gave me a second chance. He is funny and the lecture is not boring, 3 hr feel like flying in his class. Highly recommend , but you can not be lazy in his class. and DONT BE LATE.

Professor Nici is by far the best professor I've had in college. He's extremely knowledgeable and keeps the lectures interesting. Don't miss class and study for the exams, and you'll do great. No tricks. Everything is straight forward. I'm taking his class for the 2nd time and I would again given the opportunity. Oh and he's super funny!

Art History is not my cup of tea however, he definitely makes it interesting with his humor so you won't be falling asleep in this class. Basically make sure to study the chart and read from the textbook and you should be fine. The only thing that bothered me were the grading of his "quizzes" but if you show effort in your writing, you'll be fine.

Great professor! You will learn a lot but you have to attend lectures they are key and even more important than the text. Short in class writing assignments that prepare you for the exams. Midterm and final and 1 paper. NOT a museum report. If you don't like art or history or don't study this is not the class for you.

One of the most entertaining teachers I've ever had. The lecture for Art history is great and not dull at all. However he grades super hard, or the exams are just hard. From my experience I was only able to pass the essay and not the exam. He doesn't give many chances to redeem yourself grade wise either.

Toughest grader out of all art history professors that I have taken. At first I would have recommended him to any one looking to take art history but after getting back the midterm grades, most people got grades in the 50's. I NEVER missed class AND I took my time to study but he doesn't give partial credit. DO NOT TAKE PROF NICI!

One of the best teachers ever. Classes are super interesting, and as a bonus, he is one of the funniest people ever. Going to class is like being at a first rate comedy club, and you learn at the same time.

I love his class and event though his tests and quizzes are a bit hard I still enjoyed it because he doesn't makes the lectures boring. He likes to make fun of the art work but to make it interesting to the class so the students don't fall asleep. Don't feel intimidated in his class. I guarantee you that you'll enjoy it!

Nici is a great example of a professor who has positive comments on RMP, not because he's easy but because he's genuinely an amazing professor. He is challenging, knowledgeable, and gifted at the art of teaching.
