Class was very simple, only 4 speeches and one final test, but make sure to do well on them because there aren't many points in the class. There wasn't really homework, and if you fill out his study guide, final should be easy. He tells a lot of great stories in his lectures and made the class more interesting.

You only have to give 4 speeches, but there's only 4 speeches and 1 test so you don't have a lot of cushion for your grade. You have to do really well on your speeches or else you won't get an A, it's a bit of a weird point system but he's an easy grader. Honestly, it's an easy class to GE to get over with

If you're looking for an easy A don't take him, he seems like he's easy but somehow I ended up with a B in the class. Nice guy but I don't understand how his grading works and if you don't do good on the final you won't get above a B. Not enough points in the class so you better do well on all the speeches if you want an A.

EASY GRADER. Very kind and understanding professor. There is one final and 4 speeches. He was my favorite professor even though my class was 7-10pm. I HIGHLY recommend him! He makes it such a safe environment to learn.

Professor Pate is an excellent teacher. He has each student do 4 speeches and one small quiz in his Public Communications class, otherwise, no homework. If you put thought into your speeches and a decent amount of practice into them, you'll get a good grade. He's very entertaining and has so many great stories!

Prof Pate is incredible. He is by far my absolute favorite prof I've ever had. I've learned a lot. I took his class fall semester at APU. its a 3 hour once a week class. we never once stayed all three hours. he's funny, nice, and just all around a great teacher. i never once got bored with one of his lectures. if his class is open TAKE IT!!!!!

TAKE FROM THIS PROFESSOR!!! He's incredible. A comedian, politician.. very professional and clear. He respects that this is a GE and teaches you things you really will use. Only 4 speeches and an easy final of like 20 multiple choice questions. Best public comm teacher ever!

TAKE PATE AT ALL COSTS!! Pate is AWESOME. Class is easy and he gets everyone used to eachother through activities so speeches aren't as nerve-wracking. Grades REALLY easy. One test, 4 speeches, no midterm or final. Comedian (literally), and he makes a boring subject interesting as possible. Great, nice, caring guy. ALWAYS out early. AWESOME!
