I absolutely hated this professor. I wrote a 5 page paper for him and he did not even grade it because it "did not meet his standards for a passing grade". His teaching techniques are confusing and nontraditional. WOULD NEVER TAKE AGAIN!

His criteria are not particularly clear for most of his projects. He answers your question with a question. Lectures are hard to write notes for. Grading is extremely hard. Tests cover a lot of concepts and most aren't even in the textbook. Really bad teacher.

Dr. Peters obviously cares about biology but it doesn't seem like he cares about teaching. His lectures are sleep provoking at best and if your opinion does not match his then you won't pass. He gives more papers than tests and grades them very strictly. He should be in the field and not in the class room

He's just not a good teacher. The essays are incredibly tough, if you don't agree with him, you'll get a bad grade. His tests are horrible. He doesn't post notes online. He spent half the semester on evolution and then crammed everything else, 2 whole lessons mind you, in in like 2-3 weeks. Makes you work in groups. Would not recommend.

Do not take him. His class is ridiculously hard and if your opinion doesn't match with his on papers or class discussions, you will easily get an unsatisfacting grade. His tests don't match up with anything discussed in class. He is a completely difficult professor. I have the worst grade in there that I have had in College thus far.

Dr. Peters is one of the worst professors I have ever had, ever. His "progress reports" and quizzes have questions that are so densely worded and have such similar answers that it is almost impossible to do well. He expects you to remember things with Ph.D levels of knowledge and accuracy and is a very tough paper grader as well. DO NOT TAKE HIM.

HE DOES NOT TEACH AT ALL! DO NOT TAKE HIS CLASS! YOU WILL NOT GO OVER MATERIAL THAT YOU READ FROM THE BOOK! It has been almost a month into the semester and he has not taught anything at all. Avoid him at all costs

He is great. His lecture is detailed and supported with figures from the book. He gives his own note and the tests are based on the notes.

Peters grades essays really tough. It is very hard to get above a B on your first essay, I though I'd get an A+ and got a B-. His tests are also extremely hard because for some reason he thinks intro to bio means experts. One thing he does do is gives extra credit in different forms:curves tests, does test corrections and throws out questions.

Almost never gives lectures, instead he just kind of rambles on in class on a loosely based tangent. I learned 100% out of the textbook. He also never directly answers questions, so no ones ever sure what the answer is supposed to be. You can tell he knows the material well, his teaching style is just very confusing.

The lectures that he gives have nothing to do with the exams, which are multiple choice and pretty hard. I enjoyed writing scientific articles about our 4 different topics that we explored, but otherwise, I would not take him again if I had the chance. Great guy, confusing teacher. Dr. in experimental education so the students are experiments.

Dr. Peters is a great professor if you are interested in Biology. He lectures on cool stuff going on in the field right now, and assigns some really interesting podcasts to listen to. His tests are multiple choice but they are not easy - you have to know the nuances of the material. Don't skip class- he goes over most test material on the quizzes.

Especially on papers, you will struggle to do well. In one instance, the prompt was switched without students' knowledge, and he generally grades terribly. My final paper was over 4 pages long when others in the class had 2 page long papers, and much was taken off because my paper "lacked comprehensiveness.". . . . Right.

I dreaded going to this class. The tests are extremely tough due to the wording being ridiculously confusing. You basically do case studies and if you don't write what he wants you to he'll give you a horrible grade. He never fully answers questions and makes you feel dumb for asking them in the first place.

You don't really learn the material in class. He is way too much of a harsh grader on the papers he makes you do and these papers will ruin your whole grade in the class no matter how hard you worked on the paper. For minor issues in the assignments, he takes off 50 points so you fail the paper(which is more than 12 ur grade) and therefore do bad.

Overall a smart, nice and informative professor. A lot of emphasis on team work, and relevance to life. sometimes when he makes us talk about answers with our team, we don't exactly understand the right answer afterward. but if you pay attn to what he says and the points he's trying to get across, you'll do fine. very passionate and educated on bio

First thing you should know is that he really likes to focus on "problem based learning" i.e. figuring it out yourself. This is great until you can't figure it out on your own and is still confusing after you ask him for help. Second, the test are brutal. The highest grade in the class on our first test was 72. If you have to, take him.

Just flat out terrible. He is a cynical man who is oblivious to any efforts you are trying to make to succeed and will do nothing to help you. The worst teacher I have had at the College of Charleston, hands down.
