Horrible class. Material was never presented thoroughly before labs, we were expected to somehow just know what to do. Completely unorganized and professors expectations of students were unrealistic. Always ran over lab hours to get work completed. I'm an A student and this class stressed the heck out of me.

Professor Richards knows his stuff. Labs were not difficult but they required a lot of work. It was like I was in a race against the clock to finish lab work on lab days. An A is possible but you WILL work for it

I got an A but this class has a lot of work for this level. He is very unclear about what he requires for the semester and I was under the impression that this was the first year he taught this and threw the stuff together. Also, he sends emails incessantly.

the course objectives were not explained, thus not met... unclear instructions for labs, even the TAs were confused... the lectures had nothing to do with the lab... unrealistic expectations for what could be done in 2 hours by people with no experience with SYSStat

The lectures are pointless, but he keeps attendence anyways. Good place to take a nap. However, the lab is run by TA's, and this is how your grade is determined, by what you do in lab. *Deepa is amazing. Aside from that, the workload for this two hour class is pretty overwhelming.
