I miss his teaching. He left the school now and he was FINE to look at and AMAZING to listen to. Stunningly gorgeous man. Did horribly in his class but it was only because he is an extreme challenge. If you stay up on your reading and listen in class, you'll be fine.

He is willing to help if you go to him. I almost dropped the class and he convinced me to stay and I went to his office hours three times a week . Read the book it helps a lot. He gives the option of a multiple choice or essay test. Final is cumulative and he drops the lowest test grade. He is passionate about what he does and is a great person.

I appreciate his passion for politics, but he pretends to have high credentials when he really doesn't. He likes to flatter himself and makes his exams extremely difficult for no good reason. Not an inspirational professor by know means; though you get what you paid for in this university.

Distinguished Visiting Professor at the United States Air Force Academy. He was an extremely engaging lecturer and he truly cared about his students. Enjoyed having him in class and glad to have received the opportunity to do so!

Extremely intelegent professor who gives excetpionaly interesting lectures. Take detailed notes, his tests are very difficult. He demands a lot out of his students and it is easy to find yourself on the fringe of failing his class. I got a few 60s on his tests, I'm on the verge of failing, but I learned a lot and I respect Dr. Riley. GREAT PROF!

Great prof but hard class! In class, he gives great lectures that really interest you but you take so many notes, it's hard to study for the exams. If you are planning on taking him, make sure you show up to EVERY class and take detailed notes and don't get backed up on the reading or studying for the exams!

Dr. Riley is one of the best professors that KU has. He's clear with the material and his expectations. He really cares for students, and wants to see you do well. The material is not easy but you will learn more in his class than most other classes. Take his class!

He is a great professor, he really cares about your opinion. You really need to do the reading, and you really need to get a good understanding of the first chapter cause he applies that to EVERYTHING on the test. If I didn't have him at 9am this would have been my favorite class.

Dr. Riley expects you to keep up with readings and not get behind on studying for exams. His class is organized to push you further and help you to learn, but if you don't put the time in it really shows on his exams. Presented material clearly and class was very interesting. Absolutely wonderful guy and an awesome class to take, even if you just need a simple polysci class. Makes the material so much fun to learn. Side note, be aware that he assigns a lot of MANDATORY reading, but it's all helpful, and hes willing to help anyone out. He looks like Dr. Wilson from House, well thats what I think.
