Comment:

Very tough material to grasp, especially if you struggled with 370. Test probs are very difficult- he requires you to utilize all of the information from each chapter to solve 3-4 big, cumulative problems . Very scatteredfast lectures, full of tangents, difficult to follow. Only hope for an A is to seek out his help face to face, textbook no help!

Very helpful teacher. He tends to talk above you sometimes because he's not used to dropping it down to your level. He's extremely helpful outside of class. Always late. Never gives homework back in time.

Nice enough guy but tests are extremely hard. However, no one cares since he made them 4 years ago and never changes his questions. Only big beef with the guy is he did not follow his grading method on the syllabus. Take him if you want to bust your ass or know someone who's taken him before.

Dr. Rogers is a great teacher. His lectures were very clear and he was capable of fielding any challenging question thrown at him during class. I would take him again for future classes if possible.

I feel so bad because he's such a nice man, but he did not teach Numerical Methods well at all. It's a programming class and he had a projector but he still worked almost exclusively on the board. Terrible way to teach this class. Probably good for other things though!

Well, he is approx. 15 minutes late to EVERY class. That being said, he works adequate problems and doesn't assign much homework either. Tests can be difficult, but he gives generous partial credit. Don't plan on learning much, but an A or B is attainable. Exams are worth 40% each, homework is 10%... not much room for error. AVERAGE instructor.

Rogers was late every single class we had. He curved when everyone had a D or below (will happen). Don't expect to do well on exams even if you can work all homework problems. Get confortable with working a test problem without critical information, not explained in class by the way....

How many time would it take for you to show up late for your job until your employer fired you? This guy is late for EVERY class! Impossible to get in contact with out of class. Extremely nice guy but the worst teacher I have ever had. Scatterbrained, unorganized, and unable to explain even the most simple concepts. UAH owes us better teachers!

Don't get me wrong, John seems like a nice guy, but he does NOT belong in front of a classroom. It's not that he's hard, he's just really disorganized and moves at a super-inconsistent pace. Was 10 minutes late for class most days (8 minutes late for the final, I timed him). Makes numerous mistakes on board. But there's this guy named Hembree...

Rogers is a nice guy but a horrible teacher. He always seems like he is rushing around trying to blow through as much material as he can in the shortest ammount of time. Writes fast and is not good at explaining anything. Dropped this class after 1st test and made an A the next semester with different teacher. Don't take him!

Hard teacher. I took MAE 385 and the test are extremely difficult. He expects you to know alot about how the programs work and tests you on it. He's a very nice guy and will help you if you ask. The homework is easy and is your only lifeline toward getting an A.

This guy is extremely hard to keep up with, so you have to do all of your work and review your notes and read your book. Ask questions as soon as they come up, because once you get behind, you're hosed. His tests are brutal. Don't take this guy if you work full time. He goes out of his way to help.

Awesome professor. Very helpful. Lectures can move a little too quickly sometimes, but makes for an exciting class. His test are graded based on the understanding of concepts, not so much on right or wrong answers. Would take him again!
