Used real life examples in hopes to get material across to students. Intelligent. Passionate about Physics. So underappreciated. Gone too soon and suddenly. May he rest in peace.

Dr. Rollino was a legend! He was hands down one of the most brilliant people I came across in my life. Dr. Rollino always used interesting examples to help us understand the material. His exams were fairly difficult but he always provided practice exams and the quizzes helped, too. May he rest in peace. Rutgers-Newark isn't the same without him.

Some lectures tend to drag on a bit, but overall had a great experience in his class. Recitation lectures are key for this class.

Literally never went to a single lecture in two semesters of physics. You DO NOT need to go to his lectures. He tells you you do, but I promise you you do not. Go to JAMES review sessions and put in the work ( you don't need to get good grades on the quizzes just let him know you are trying)

Tbh, going to his lectures are useless. He takes a whole period or two to explain a concept, while James will explain it in like 10 minutes. Although, he is a very nice and understanding professor. Tests are similar to previous ones so study those and do practice problems and you'll be fine. Gives a lot of partial credit and curves at the end.

I felt at points throughout the semester that there was a lot of information that students are expected to know. However, I have a miserable background in mathematics and as a result I found myself struggling. If you work to understand the material, you will do fine.

Rollino is the sweetest man! He seems scary at first but he will stay and answer any question you have! he also gives so much partial credit on exams its almost impossible to fail. His material may be hard but he's just prepping you for what's on the MCAT.

Dr. Rollino is not impossible. If you have questions he'll answer them and is available to explain during office hrs. Physics is a tough course a lot of time needs to put in just as if it was a regular math class. Practice is key. Pretty straight forward on how you will be graded and whats on the exam. Its really impossible to fail

Physics is hard enough as it is. Physics with Rollino is near impossible. He is a very nice guy, not a good lecturer though. James will save your life. Go to him.

Very fair professor. Yea, his lectures are long and kinda useless but his exams are pretty fair. Identical to the practice ones and if you ask for help, he gives you hints. Put college-level work in class and you'll get the grade. Very generous on the partial credit as well!

To the person below me, that is not true. Dr. Rollino is a genius and a huge asset to the Physics department. He provides practice exams that are just about the same as the one he gives out. He clarifies whenever you have a question. He's an old guy, so yeah he will get grumpy. You will learn Physics at a fundamental level with this professor.

He's a veteran at rutgers. He's an older man so he can be a bit grumpy but he really knows his stuff. He likes to give real world examples which I found very interesting and helpful. A 50 average is a C which is a joke; way too easy to pass. His exams are difficult but you get what you put in. Generous with partial credit as well. Go to James too!

No lie, his exams are tough. You must understand the concepts and not just memorize formulas. Doing that will get you an A, but memorizing will get you a B at the very best. There were a few hundreds on the each of the exams so it is definitely doable to get an A. Understand the concepts, they are really quite simple! Rollino is a genius too

Professor Rollino is a phenomenal instructor and you will definitely leave the class understanding physics at a fundamental level. His lectures were very informative and interesting, to boot. That said, be prepared to put in college-level work for this class. Physics is learned by doing problems. If you don't try, don't expect a good grade.

Though it's hard, Dr. Rollino is very helpful and actually considers his students. 55 is a C. He listens to his students and is willing to give back a few more points on exams if you deserve it. What helps is the TA, James. He is very helpful and grades fairly. Rollino also adjusts at the end for students who are borderline.

Getting an A is very difficult, attend every class and try to understand the concept of the subject and the formula he derives. Attend James sessions because he does explain the material better and easier than Rollino. DO NOT DEPEND ON THE SECOND EXAM PRACTICE TEST! The second exam is very hard, and nothing like the practice exam he gives out.

Getting an A in the class isn't impossible but unlikely. Be ready to do a lot of homework and practice problems. Attend all of James' session he will do many different types of problems and if you understand the analysis for them all you should do fine. Dr. R derives the equations in class and shows the general application of each.

Interesting professor. Knows physics like the back of his hand. Go to class, he gives explanations to the formulas. about half of the quizzes are easy. Exam 1 is easy. Exam 2 was hard. Finally, the final was half easy then the rest was extremely random questions. But overall his partial credit is nice.
