Comment:
He is a very tough teacher. He knows a lot about history but he jumps around a lot in his lectures and they are very hard to follow. He gives pop quizzes every other day and they are based completely from the notes that are taken in class. He likes to go off on tangents and complain about the current government. I would recommend not taking him.

Comment:
He was very confusing when he taught because he would jump around time periods. You never used the book. He only gives 3 grade types: written, quiz, and final. The quizzes are based on the notes he gives in class, and usually contain material never covered. If you want a good history grade, I would advise against this course.

While attendance is not mandatory, there are pop quizzes every other day. Additionally, he tends to go off on tangents and is often politically incorrect. If either bother you, avoid this class. However, no textbook reading required for good class grade.

Avoid this teacher. He spends the entire class complaining about Democrats. Attendance is not "mandatory" but he gives pop-quizes every other class that you cannot make up not matter the circumstance. He does not use a textbook! He knows a lot about history, but spends too much time hating on Obama to teach you anything.

Sometimes gets off topic and there is no need to take notes. The small 5 question quizzes are based solely on in class lectures. If it's on the board it will be on a quiz. He will drop your few lowest scores and the final is open book/open notes. Don't talk if you aren't prepared bc he'll embarrass you, but overall an excellent professor.

He is very opinionated but really does things in the best interest of his students. No tests, all pop quizzes which are easy. It was kinda boring cause all he did was lecture but he is very knowledgable in his field. Very smart!

He is one of my favorite profs, just because the class is a breeze. He does tell us though that we aren't as smart as our parents and we only have to do about 1/3 of what he would have made them do. Fine by me :)

if you don't have the same view as him, he will try to fail you. you could have the exact same spelling as the kid next to you and they can get it right and you get it wrong. the quizzes are dictated. don't take this professor unless you have the same bush is god attitude.

Loves history. Class is not that hard, but you have to take good notes. Study notes briefly before every class, can get 100s on every quiz if you do. Notes can be used on the final and is not that hard if you take the time to organize.

One of the best history profs here at SFU... Take your laptop and TAKE NOTES.... Quizzes are directly from the notes... 20 point bonus questions are from the text... On the final, he lets ya use your notes and book for the last hour....

I wish he could teach all my classes. Very knowledgable and knows the material so well, he doesn't even need to bring a book to class. Good note taking a must, tests are DIRECTLY from the notes. You might leave the class with an easy A but you will also leave it with a superior knowledge of the subject matter.
