LOVE JOHNNY SHARP. Hate all things geography but honestly this is prob my favorite class this semester. The only homework you have is to read a short chapter and he gives you questions to look for. show up to class, five question quiz (with bonus) and you use your notes. Nicest, funniest guy. Engaging. Makes dad jokes LOL

Amazing and hilarious. Grading is clear, as long as you pay attention in class and do the assigned readings you will have no trouble in this class. The lectures can be topic heavy, but he is a hilarious professor, and I found his lectures to be very interesting, even though I'm a Chemistry Major.

Professor Sharp is a great choice. Although his lectures can be boring sometimes, he sprinkles his own humor into the course and makes it bearable. Sharp gives quizzes every day based off on the homework and gives three tests throughout the semester, do the readings! He's a great choice for GE credit and I would pick him again if I could.

Great Professor, he is really engaging and interactive with the students. Tests are really fair and easy as long as you take notes and pay attention in lecture. He even does study sessions, where he really goes over the material taught.

He's a great professor and I would definitely take him again although he does give a quiz everyday. His tests are also pretty hard even if you study. But he gives study guides and does review sessions before each test.

Best professor you will find at SUNY New Paltz. Quizes every class but you get an extra credit point you could get 65. 3 tests pretty straight forward. Prof. Sharp will make you love Geography and his jokes are too much If you read what you are supposed to, I guarantee you an easy B+.

A lot of studying needed for Mid-term and Final. Rest of the workload is reasonable. Grading is fair. He's a nice guy but has a very unreserved personality, unique for a college Professor. Very knowledgeable but has a tendency to get off topic for extended periods of time. Overall I enjoyed the class. Would take him again.

Sharp is a fantastic guy. Cities of the World is not too challenging of a class. A lot of map quizzes but you get the hang of it. Sharp is a great teacher who makes a lot of irreverent jokes. He loves talking to his students and you really learn a lot from him. Take this class if you can!

Sharp is a great professor, and is very clear about everything and anything. He's very flexible with changing due dates if the class asks. He is also very willing to let you take quizzes or tests early if necessary, and is very concerned about his students. He's a little awkward but always has really good jokes, and Cities of the World was great!

Wonderful professor. Sometimes stumbles over his wording, but pretty much knows his stuff cold. Really clear with notes and the information he wants you to know. You have to work for your grade, but that's okay. Always makes class interesting, and it just makes it easier to pay attention because he is certainly nice to look at.

Gives a lot of jokes that has nothing to do with the class. He does not give a lot of notes on the board but instead talks ALOT. You need the book. Everything he says is in the book. Nice guy.

I have taken two classes with sharp already, and am taking another next semester by chance. I am not upset though. He is one of the better teachers ive had at SUNY NP. He knows his stuff and will teach you well. His classes are not easy, but if you listen and read the material then you will do well in the class.

John Sharp is intense, difficult and an awesome awesome teacher to learn from. Will often poke fun at you in class. His classes aren't easy, but you'll come out knowing more than you thought you could. His knowledge is expansive and he is very enthusiastic about teaching. He rules. And yes, he is kind of hot.

Good professor, not an easy class. You have to work for a good grade, but it pays off at the end. Lots of memorization on map quizzes, and well-written researched papers mandatory every week. He's a smart guy who is more than willing to help, but he definitely expects you to put in 2 hours out of class for every hour you're in class.
