He's a crotchety old scot (he'll be the first to tell you that), but I found him extremely interesting and helpful. His tests were fair

avoid him at all costs, for any course. he's a horrible lecturer, a mean man, dislikes pretty much everyone and would not help me even during his office hours. his tests are unnecessarily hard and incomprehensible. he loves ppl sucking up to him though

Luckily he's gone and no one else ever has to have him. His final was the worst, if not a then b and c, if not d and not e than a b and c etc etc etc.

I disagree with all of the comments that I have read thus far. Dr. John Sinclair is the best reason to be in the science program at Carleton University. I learned more from him than any other prof. His retirement will be a great loss to the students.

He's the ultimate bad prof. He's self-absorbed, doesn't help anybody, won't answer questions in his office hours (makes you wonder why he has them in the first place) and he's absolutely and completely rude and #%#@!. Good that he's retiring come 2004.

The laziest teacher I've ever come across. He is so obstinate and he's actually away for the 8 days before the exam, even for e-mail, isn't that nice!!! Has no office hours, horrible notes, bad grammar and ambiguous questions.

He was the most boring prof I've ever had! He had all his notes on powerpoint and he read them outloud while everyone copied them. Didn't say anything new in class. Did not use any type of visual aid. He just sucked!

At the time I didn't like him. However, in hindsight, he knows what he's doing, put together decent lectures, doesn't force students to memorize pathways, and tested fairly.
