Lectures are pretty dull. The quizzes are easy if you do the homework. The midterm and final are challenging but you get a full page of notes. John is extremely helpful if you go to his office hours for help.

Very helpful guy! I missed a couple quizzes, including one time I overslept and he still let me retake it. I did poorly on the exams, but the quizzes bring you up. Go to class and you should get a B.

Ok, this class is hard! Really hard! Don't be fooled by the quizzes, the mid-term is completely different and ridiculously hard. The Mid-term questions come from who knows where, and his grading style is to the "T". But, don't give up after the mid-term, because he curves quite a bit, and the final is much easier. Stressful class though.

I read his reviews on this site before I took his class...and they're all pretty accurate. Awesome guy, great teacher, but the quizzes are rather difficult and the midterm is even harder. I enjoyed his class, he's enthusiastic about it and knows what he's talking about.

Nice prof but give extremely hard midterms, but the quizes were ok. Don't know where the midterm questions came from... However, you do get one page of notes, back and front, could be helpful if you put the right stuff on it.

Sloan is a very good guy - he is always willing to help you if you go to his office hours. However, his quizzes and tests are REALLY hard. The good thing is that he curved our grades at the end!!

He is a good teacher, very knowledge, nice and funny. Quizes arent difficult but the exams are very difficult. Do rely on the slides for his quizes but study out of the textbook for the exams and you'll get a better grade than I did
