Comment:

Most professors don't even know my name. I really appreciated that Softcheck took the time to get to know us and was always willing to talk about assignments or issues we were having. Some of the assignments were a little unclear at first, but a short conversation after class usually cleared things up. he's great about responding to email quickly.

Softcheck is a great guy and great prof. He def isnt handing out free A's but if you take his class you will learn a lot. Excellent at what he does. Has a caring and supportive nature. Inspires passion in subject. Engages well during class, never a dull moment. Very honest and straightforward. Keeps it real and is always willing to help students

I don't think I really appreciated how much he influenced my writing until I was nearing graduation. His expectations are high, but he also tells you exactly what you need to do to get top marks for drafts. Don't procrastinate or skip class. His grading system seemed confusing at first, but it really is simple math. Wish I could take him again.

Awesome professor. Very interesting stories and examples he gives to class. I thought that I was doing poor in his class and I had also believed that i bomber my final. I got a B in the class. GO TO EVERY CLASS and put a lot of effort in and he will notice.

I liked the class I just hated his grading system. He explained how to figure out your grades by his personal points grading system and I was still completely in the dark. I thought I was doing really well and a week after the semester ended I found out I got a D! I wish I knew how close I was to almost failing. A heads up would have been nice.

Hardest teacher I've had. Grades papers harshly and on his own system (he doesn't use letter grades). If you never miss a class he gives you 9 extra points (SO GO TO CLASS!) It is a very hard class to sit through (my class was an hour and 15 minutes) Best thing is peer edit days because you don't really have to work. It is a hard class be prepared.

A great teacher who will challenge you to be a better written. He DOES NOT grade you on your opinions, however he will challenge them. He requires you to have a compelling argument for your opinion for him to accept it, like any good professor should. I would recommend him to anyone who wants to become a better writer.

Softy is the WORST professor on campus. He makes sure the average of the class/paper is a 75. That means if the average is an 85 everyone grade will drop. He prides himself on having the most write ups for plagiarism. If he does not like your opinion or your argument expect a bad grade. His grading system is completely made up. DO NOT TAKE! AVOID!!

IDK why people say this man is awesome. He's the worst prof I have ever had and I am an "A" student. He judges you on your opinion and if his is different than yours he automatically gives you a bad grade. Take this class if you love to read because it's what you will do every day. At the beginning of the semester he tries to make you drop his class. I'm glad I didn't. We spent most classes talking about interesting readings and topics. . If you start his papers early, and follow his directions exactly, the class will be easy.

SOFTY! this is one of the best, if not the best teachers I have ever had in my entire life. The syllabus is intimidating, as are his demands at the beginning of the semester. Pay attention in class and do the assignments correctly, and you'll be golden. I wish I could have him for every class
