is a great teacher. he goes very fast but i didnt even pay attention in class. Just do the homework problems and the practice exams he gives out and guaranteed an A or B in class. NOt easy class but the practice problems he gives makes it easy.

Tyvoll is the man! He is hands down the best lecturer the Chem department has. Course itself is hard, but he tries to make it easier. Very approachable and willing to help in or out of class. Offers lots of help sessions and sample tests and problems. Would def. recommend!

This was a suprisingly difficult course. He gives you ten weeks to turn in 5 essays...not THAT bad. You have to do a lot of work to understand and succeed in his class. He's one of those "for every hour of lecture you need to study 3 hours" professors..and he means it. He does offer 3 opportunitys for 10+ extra credit..which was nice:).. and needed

tries hard to help people understand, uses weird analogies. kind of a funny guy. good teacher though. plus there's scheduled help sessions like every day of the week with different prof.

Very good teacher. Actual learned a lot in his class. Tyvoll doesnt teach the bs stuff. He's straight forward and tells you exactly want you need in order to pass the weekly quizzes, exams, final. Tyvoll goes through material rather quickly, but if you print out the chapter notes before class you'll be fine.

Very good and helpful prof. It is true he would go fast but he often went fast through the less important material then spent a lot of time on the stuff that would show up on exams/ the final. Also he would work example after example. Doesnt collect home work just has a weekly quiz based on the assigned problems. Do the work and you can get an A.

He def knows his stuff. He moves very quick maybe because i had it for summer session, but he is VERY fair with grading the workout problems. He is very good at explaining the problems, sometimes he just goes really fast and you have to keep up with him. His tests are not too hard, but they are not cake. He does not purposely try to trick you.

Good teacher and knows what he's talking about. However moves fast during class and it's sometimes hard to figure out what he wants you to know and whats just FYI. Very organized with his e-mail and really stays on top of his classes. Overall good guy.

Heard he was better than Miller and Bombino. Goes through lecture pretty fast...should go everyday or will miss a lot. Gives extra credit. Do the hw b/c that is what the quiz will be on each Friday. Sometimes, goes too fast he makes mistakes...but overall, an ok teacher

Challenging chemistry course, but so are all science courses. Very demanding for non-majors, a lot of work but it is pretty easy to get a B in the class. Be prepared to put a lot of time into this class.

Great class for non-majors. It's challenging, but of all the possible lab/science courses to take, this is probably the best. Really hard to get an A. Easy to get a B. Can get a B in the class even if you don't understand the lectures and fail the tests.
