Dr. Van Zee is a really nice guy, but his lectures are not very structured and sometimes hard to follow. Be prepared to teach yourself out of the book a good bit. Despite this, he is very helpful outside of class and accessible, and he is very knowledgeable on the subject. If you study hard, you can get an A.

Van Zee is always willing to help outside of class for any length of time, but he doesn't explain info as well as the book. Exams are similar to HW problems,which come from textbook. usually there's 1 part to an exam problem that's tricky.

Very nice guy. Awsome researcher, but isn't good at getting the info across. Even when paying attention it is very difficult to understand how to do the Hw and tests.

He kind of ruined a good class. All he ever did to teach was 'do problems' which while helpful in small amounts, it just wasn't enough. I don't think he got anyone in the class really interested in the subject. I'd try not to take this class with him.
