Dr. Veinot is an amazing professor. Yes his exams are hard and the material seems all over the place. But it is not his fault. Material chemistry pulls from different branches of chemistry. If you listen to his lectures carefully you'll understand how complex the subject is. After 4 years, he's the only prof that reminded me why I enjoy chem.

nice funny guy but wish there was a text book because he talks too much about uses of chemistry rather then what he has on slides, and not enough examples of math needed for tests

He is the worst prof that I ever had. Before coming to his lecture I liked the chemistry but I lost my interest in chemistry after attending his lecture. His tests are tough and his lectures are boring.

Super awful. Lectures were pretty well useless. Midterms and final were extremely difficult and went far beyond what was taught. Completely inconsistent with teaching material as things showed up that hadn't been discussed at all. Do not take any class with him..

This professor needs to work on delivering content in his lectures. Ended up learning a lot more about his daughter and his holidays then chemistry. He should really consider taking a workshop on teaching style.

Very disorganized professor, posts written notes online, but they are out of order all the time, his eClass is disorganized. His lectures are not so great, and he talks about other things during class like his daughter and his trips to Germany, stuff that isn't relevant at all to the content of the class. I learned everything from the textbook.

Would for sure recommend taking this course with another prof. Very weak chemistry prof. Lots of learning from the textbook in order to survive the course as lecture material was inconsistent with exams. Prof was not very helpful and was not very nice when asked for help. Good luck if you get him.

Overall not a great prof. Most of the learning was done from the textbook, and his notes were essentially useless. There was a clear disconnect between what he thought he was teaching and what he was actually teaching. Very unclear what was on the final, and tests were unrealistically difficult. Avoid him.

He's actually a pretty cool professor. The lectures notes are useful to study so that we don't end up reading excess stuff from the textbook and his example final gives a good indication of what we could expect on this year's final. Overall a great professor.
