Fantastic professor! It's really too bad he was just visiting. Seriously though, if you put in the effort it's really easy to get an A. He gives you a question bank before the exams! Not to mention, when I took it, there were study groups you could go to, and public office hours. Best honors section EVER! His lectures were great!

I LOVED this class, and I'm pretty sure it's because of Professor Crawford. He's one of the best teachers I have ever encountered that truly changed my life. If you go to class, discussion, do the readings it's a guranteed A. I also think this class is great, because it reminds you to care about the rest of the world. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

i hated this class & will never take anthro again. yea the teacher is a great guy, but horrible teacher. he makes jokes during lectures & tries to be funny. powerpt slides = pointless. even though they're online, it's hard to understand cuz he writes them in his own way. 2 books & 1 reader = wasted money and too boring

The class is extremely difficult with a lot of very long, mind-boggling readings. That said...prof crawford is soooo funny and refreshingly politically incorrect. He's great like that. His lectures are pretty cool and go over most of the reading, and the TAs are always around to help. So basically...just be prepared to READ A LOT!

this class was ****. it's supposed to be an easy intro class but it is not anything like you would expect. the reading is ridiculously long and his lectures are extremely boring. yeah, you would think culture would be an interesting subject but he is more into theory and methodology than actual cultures.

For a survey class it is surprisingly challenging. However, the prof is by far the best lecturer I've had at sb - he's concise, funny, and insightful. Most importantly the class is interesting. If you're looking for an easy A don't take this class but if you want to be challenged and taught by one of the best around take anth 2 with crawford.

Crawford is officially the worst professor ever. He assigns waaaaaay to much reading and the final is cumulative. The class is soo boring, the reading is semi-interesting but I hate reading it because there is just sooo much. Don't take this class biggest mistake ever!

amazing lecturer. he cracks a lot of jokes in class, swears all the time, just very entertaining overall. the tests are very hard and tons of reading. keep up with the reading. but in general, very good class to take.
