He's a great person, but he taught from another teacher's notes and couldn't do the labs we were assigned. He thought his political incorrectness was funny, but it was insulting to me. Super accessible though, and willing to sit with you for an hour+.

Professor Wheeldon has been teaching at MSOE for 20 years. How, I have no idea. Would give lab handouts that even he couldn't read properly. I would visit him in his office and never get a clear answer to my questions. He would also spend days on a topic and not test us on that topic but he would test us on things he vaguely touched on.

Dr. Wheeldon is a sweetheart. He's a little old (and maybe not as 'politically correct' as most people are today) but funny most of the time. The way he lectures makes you feel like he's not covering any material, but really he goes point for point along what the textbook says.

Comment:
Isn't always sure what he is lecturing about due to the fact that he uses another professors handouts. He will sometimes end class halfway through as he has no idea what he is lecturing. Isn't always respectable towards women and minorities.

Wheeldon is an, um, interesting professor. Absolutely hilarious; easy A, but if I ever need to apply what I *learned* in this class, I'll have no idea what I'm doing. Not infrequently confused by his own lecture notes & lab assignments. The bottom line: avoid if you need to understand the material, take if it's not an important class to your major

The class is as expected. The material tested isn't difficult. The material in the book and homework, however, can be hard without proper instruction. He concentrates on motors because a lot of ME majors are required to take the course; which overall isn't bad. He doesn't go into much detail on transformers which is the hardest topic in the course.

First thing he talked about in C++ was how much he hated C++. He spent much of his time talking about the good ol days of FORTRAN and typewriters. He would get stuck on his own powerpoints once in a while because he didn't make them. "And as you can see here... what is this code saying? I'll get back to you guys on this tomorrow"...lol

I actually liked the class. We basically built off the first lab and incorporated that into every lab after that, seemed repetitive, but i feel i learned a lot. make sure you can program yourself, wheels tends to leave out the important details for assignments to compile correctly.

Avoid at all costs! You will not learn anything. Downgrades you if you do not attend to class. Classes are pretty much consist of jokes, sometimes directed to students. Also tends to pick on students a lot. Overall, not worth what you are paying for.

Wheeldon is awesome, for basic concepts you can not get a better teacher. He explains it and will do it over and over until everyone gets it. He will do all of the homework in class if the class wants him to. Super easy class

Great guy. Easy labs, easy tests, has a sense of humor. I'd take him for everything if I could. Faculty look down on him, but he's awesome. Take him if you can. Maybe not the smartest, but he does care and will go out of his way to help you.

nice guy, extremely easy. Be Warned, you won't learn everything you need to for his class. Take him for an easy A but not if you will need the material for other classes.

He's really gullible on his lab exams-i "fudged" my #'s on the lab and pretended they were right and he assumed so too and gave me full credit. If u dont understand, ask and he'll help, even during exams. Easy class, tests only cover basics; few, if any, difficult problems. However, u may not learn a lot from him, as he makes the problems 2 easy

Extremely easy prof and really nice guy. You will ace every lab as long as you show up and write something down. Test are pretty easy. You will learn the basics in his class but nothing more. If you really want to learn electronics take someone else or talk to him one on one outside of class. He runs into desks a lot, funny to watch.

Avoid, Avoid!!! His class was somewhat easy but did't learn much more than the basics. The course crams at least two courses of material into one. However, I will give the teach some credit he is there for students in class if they have programming trouble. If you have to take him for this class don't expect to learn much. A good grade is likely.
