John is a little different guy but he is nice and smart. His quizzes and exams are very hard, I would be very surprised if people get 100's on them. Comp1 was not too bad tho the class was based mostly on 4 essays through the semester. You can get away without most readings but he expects a lot of it which I didnt do a lot of and did good still

This was, hands down, the worst class I have ever taken. It's American Literature Pre-colonial-1865, which sounds boring enough. I knew there was going to be reading but the amount of assignments was enormous. He never grades anything and if he doesn't agree with your opinion on something, he grades you down.

I thought that his class was really interesting, the papers that I wrote for him were some of my best. If you are a dual enrolled student, take this class. He will make you work hard on your papers, but it will be worth it. Some of his lectures are a little long, BEWARE OF QUIZZES!!!! Always be prepared coming to his class.

John Wolff was my favorite professor at WSCC. He's always available for office hours and is truly a fascinating guy. His classes are generally rather writing intensive so be ready for that. No class of his is a 'blow off' and quite honestly it's worth every minute. He'll make you work, but that's what he's there for.

Comment:
Mr. Wolff is very sarcastic, I often dreaded getting his feedback. I learned very little about actually writing papers and more about computer coding, which was extremely difficult. He graded our first assigned paper the week before final exams so I had no definitive idea what my grade was all semester.

Very rude and strict when it comes to grading. Not flexible at all. I would never take a class with him again

He takes forever on grading essays, and his lectures are sometimes hard to follow. When needing advice, he beats around the bush and never gives a direct answer. I don't recommend him unless you have a high tolerance for ignorance.

Fun guy, strict grading. Like, painfully strict. Got class called off a lot, that's always a plus on mandatory classes.

John is completely fake. He is cocky and arrogant and a flat out horrible teacher, at least when it comes to Comp 2. It took him over a month to grade our papers and he doesn't even give feedback. Definitely take Henne instead!!

I don't really enjoy his teaching style. He is a very opinionated individual, which isn't bad, I just wish he wasn't so when grading papers and midterms.

He's a good teacher. it seems the enhlish/lit majors love him. If you're in his class as an elective...you may get annoyed with the students who are all into the subject matter...a little boring if World lit isn't your thing. Playing with clay was cool

He is without a doubt the best professor I have ever had. He really knew what he was talking about and was very passionate about the subject of literature. He inspired me to become an English major.
