Ok! I'm unbiased so here we go. Pros: Uploads all notes (not too many) to ilearn Tests are an EXACT COPY of study guides HE GIVES YOU Labs are easy, lab tests involve pure memorization Cons: His lectures are very long and he talks slowly, you need to attend Study guides have no way to verify answers I have 50 minerals memorized. Dr. Knox's classes isn't easy. He teaches only from his power point and you only have lecture test. He gave 3 extra credit quizzes that were 1 point a piece. I had no interest in this class. My lab grade is hepling me pass this class, so do well in lab!

TERRIBLE!!! I am a geology major, and will be in my graduating next year. I do not advice taking him if you are a non major. Do not put yourself through that punishment. I have made A's in his classes, but have had to work very hard. He loves to belittle his students.

1040 class not to bad, 3410 - paleobiology is horrible. He is very biased towards anyone who is not a geologist. I will never take him for anything else and could care less whether I ever see him again in my life. Worst professor in my opinion that I have ever had. I do not recommend him in the least.

Knox is a nice professor. He doesn't really use the book, but he posts PowerPoints online. He doesn't take attendance unless it's for extra credit. GO TO CLASS. TopHatMonacle is very useful. No quizzes, just tests and lab scores, so if you study well, you'll be fine. He tells stories and actually tries to make the subject interesting.

This class is really not challenging. Just pay attention in class! He posts all the notes online and doesn't really deviate much. Study the book to reinforce lecture. His exams are lengthy, but you usually have the possibility of making over 100 with his extra questions.

VERY helpful on tests. If you have a question, say, the difference between "a" or "c" he will openly tell you are wrong and perhaps give you a hint if you explain how you can't see the answer to be anything else.

This class is pretty hard. I am an A student, and I was challanged to maintain that status in his class. He's is a great guy, and willing to help you. His exams are very hard. Use the book and take the online chapter tests and its possible to do well. He does curve the grades which helps. Anyone who tells you this class is easy is a liar...

Easy as could be. I stopped going to class halfway through the semester, and still pulled an easy B with very minimal studying. Study the powerpoints he puts online and the class is extremely easy. Boring, but easy.

I can not understand all this complaining about it being hard. It's college folks, yes, you can take this class instead of bio and move on, but it's still COLLEGE. Compared to what you're going to see, this is easy. He's fun, entertaining, and lively. By far my favorite class this sem.

Good teacher, hard class. Puts all of his notes up on iweb, but draws a lot of diagrams during class so be sure to attend. The tests are hard but not impossible to do well. Form a study group and you'll be fine. He's pretty funny too, you just have to pay attention. His voice tends to put me to sleep.

I was misinformed by my advisor that geology was the easiest classes for a science elective... Not with Knox. I went to class every day, wrote down all the notes, went to the labs, put forth all of my effort, and came short of .5 points from making a C. Who cares about rocks anyways. Take someone else if you want a good grade/to learn.
