This isn't your typical English lit class. It felt more like a book club. The class is discussion oriented so the students become close quickly. The short stories weren't the greatest, but the way in which he teaches you HOW TO READ literature was definitely the best part. Reading two stories per week and writing a response is all for homework.

It was a very friendly environment, and I immensely enjoyed the writing exercises and workshops. You do have to participate, but I am a shy person and it wasn't bad at all. You do get to write a lot, which I enjoyed, and you read other students stories. He didn't have us buy text books either!

Took 8-week online class. Only 3 main papers throughout the entire class. Barely needed the textbook. Make sure you turn in your drafts at least 48 hrs before the due date. Weekly quizzes and weekly discussion questions. Gives about 2 or more weeks to complete each essay. Reflective paper due at the end.

I took the 8 week online course and I have to say at first I thought that I wasn't going to pass, but as long as you turn in your essays and do your quizzes you should be fine. There were 3 major essays 3-5 pages and the final was a portfolio. Posting in discussions counts as a grade, there is one discussion each week. Good professor!

This class was pretty easy. No need to buy the text book as you can find all of the stories online. All you are graded on is a weekly discussions. You will do mostly everything online, but you have to show up to discus what you wrote online. It is repetitive and stupid but you have to go because he takes attendance. Over all very easy though.

Discussions on short stories each week. Literally just repeat in class what you put on your discussion board online. Super easy in that sense. Midterm and final paper are a little challenging, but I did mine the day it was due for both and got 100% on both. EASY A

Great for students who are new to creative writing and/or need to gain confidence in their work. Useful feedback and a supportive environment. This class really helped me become more comfortable with my writing and pushed me to get better. Creative writing assignments each week, share them with the class. No text, no tests, no extra credit.

The professor is slightly disappointing. Not much is expected of you: read the stories, write a response to one, come to class and discuss. Really easy A, not what I expected the class to be. Professor is extremely laid back, not very engaging. Kind of felt like the class was a waste of my time and gas but at least it was really simple.

This class can either be easy or hard. It is up to you. Every week on Friday you turn in your work as usual. He has you use Smarthinking. The problem with that is most of the time you have to turn in your assignment to smarthinking 48 hours in advance to be able to receive by Friday. HE IS A TOUGH GRADER.

I had this professor for ENC1101 and Enc1102 and by far he was the easiest english teacher ive ever had. There was like 4 papers due for each class and that was it. He does like too talk however and dosent like it if you miss class. But if you want an easy A, take him.

This was a great class. When it comes to the essays he is resonable with his grades. He wants his students to write at a college level as we are in college, but he will help you get there with his great feedback. I would recomend the book he recomends as well as it helps a lot. He is a great professor and I would recomend him.

I like him a lot. This class was a lot of reading, we had a book every two weeks, but we also watched a lot of movies. Read the book then watch the film, then repeat. This was Crime Fiction and the books are some classic novels. Overall a good and easy class if you show up and do the reading. No textbook and no exams or quizzes.

Lots of room for creativity in this course. Make reading a habit. Provides good feedback. Get to know classmates well as you'll share your workwriting with them all throughout course. One major assignment was 10 page workshop piece for class to review, ample time given to complete.
