Clauss ruined Prob&Stats for me. The homework isn't awful, but he won't allow you to ask questions about it until you turn it in. Went to ask about questions on about a test, but he was rude and never fully answered my questions. He's a narcissist and almost always responds with a condescending remark. My absolute LEAST favorite professor at Augie

Although his class is tough, he is a great professor. As long as you actually do the suggested book problems and go see him right away when you don't understand something, you will be just fine in his class. But seriously, do the homework, its worth it!

Teacher generally spends a quarter of the class period or more interrupting students mid question/lecturing on grammar and notation rather than the actual topic. Student's are obviously afraid to ask questions, probably because they don't want to misinterpret a word in the question and receive a lecture on that instead.

It was terrible. There is soo much work that needs to be done for the class that is completely unnecessary such as papers and reading a book for a math class. His test are ten times harder than what is should be. Never again.

Best professor I have had at Augustana, no questions asked. Have had thus far for Diff Eq and Real Analysis (411) and everything is presented wonderfully. Takes an extreme interest in the WAY students learn, and is very keen on the idea of making sure students don't repeat their mistakes. Lectures, homework, grading, all is fair but tough. Terrific

Clauss is a great professor; he really seems to care about his students and wants them to do well. Go to his office if you are confused and you will leave understanding the material. His class is tough, but he has some sort of curve (sliding scale maybe?) that keeps your grades decent.

Easily best teacher at augie. He makes sure you actually understand the material. Teaches you how to learn in general - which is a skill that can be applied in all classes.. overall - take his class even if you have no interest in math. you'll surprise yourself with the amount you learn.

He was incredibly good at explaining really tough subjects. He is able to simply real well, and doens't move at a fast pace. If you ask questions, he will explain it to you until you understand the material. One of the best profs I've had.
