Comment:

This was by far the best class I have ever taken. I disliked history but this class made enjoy it again. Professor Jon Comford and is super passionate about what he's teaching. He has a power point but really explains his notes and will break it down into modern and lament terms if you need it. Hw is usually just one 2pg paper a week if that.

Comment:

Great teacher. Go to every class and take notes. He's easy to work with and honestly wants you to pass the class. Attend all of the classes and take plenty of notes. He gives a lecture style class with a power point that has notes and videos. Weekly writing assignments based off the weeks topic due the next class period.

Comford is overall AMAZING. He is so funny and down to earth and able to connect with his students on a level that makes sense. Lectures are interesting and you learn a lot. Attend class, take notes, use flash cards to study for tests, and you'll get an A. I would take him 10x more times! Loves to listen to his students. Love Comford!!!

I took Comford for 108 & 109. Love the guy. He is a cool and lectures are interesting (but he will lecture long most nights). Do not buy the book. He creates questions directly off the notes. You will have a paper every week so if you are not a strong writer don't choose this class. If you are looking to learn history, Comford is your guy.

he's a cool teacher, interesting class, always there to answer your question. however, what really bugged me on his class were the tricky questions on his quizzes, so pay attention to it if you take his classes. but overall, he's a great teacher

Comford is a very difficult Professor. There was not one time where it was laid back. He showed up every class time, and there was always homework. This is the only class I focused on and I still fail to reach my desired grade letter. The questions on test/quizzes are very mind-boggling and he purposely made it tricky. However, he is entertaining.

Know how to write a thesis, a required 2 papers but fairly easy with very simple prompts. Do not miss too many classes, notes will be 100% when it comes to test taking. Study the material, he highlights what is important. Very very great and simple class if you put in some effort.

Make use you buy both textbooks! Didn't use the book I bought (narrative). He gets lost when you ask him questions that aren't referred to on his powerpoints. Get ready for death by powerpoint. Also, tries a little too hard to be cool. Be yourself dude!!!

Easy class. He will email the powerpoints and underlines what you need to know in them. I got 103% without too much effort. He is funny and will tell you interesting stories about history that keep your attention. Also lets you out early every time. TAKE HIM!!

Terrific instructor! Conversational approach to teaching with lots of colorful and interesting stories. If you show up to class, participate every once in a while and read through your notes a couple of times in the week, you'll do well.

he tells you attendance is taken daily and that you need to bring books daily but noot true! you don't need to come to class, does not take attendance. the notes and lecture have nothing to do with the tests, grade based on 3 tests! no study guide just read the books and come on test days

Mr. Comford is the best! I took a night class with him. I was not excited about a 3 hour history class but he made it as enjoyable as possible. Hes a great teacher and helps you out as much as you need it. I would recommend him to anybody, history lover or not.

This class was difficult. Only a handful of students remained midway through the semester. By the end, there were less than 10. The tests were difficult, even if you studied. Essays were assigned every week and it was like being in an English class all over again.

He was a great teacher. The work is not easy and I did not expect anything less. I really enjoyed his lectures. The fact that he teaches middle school students as well has kept him young and his approach to teaching history is not one to miss!
