Jon is a great professor. Even though it can be a bit unorganized, he's makes a huge effort to be transparent with students. He made time to go through an entire lab experiment with me. He's hilarious and knowledgeable. His criticism may be unclear at times but he's still pretty fair about grading. He gets better the more classes you take of his.

Comment:
Extremely unclear grading material. Acts like he is superior in all ways. He will never admit he is wrong, even if he IS. For instance, everyone in the class got something wrong on the exam due to unclear wording, but he told us we were all in the wrong... Treats students rather disrespectfully as his inferiors. Pointless class. Avoid if possible.

Extremely unorganized!! Takes months before handing back assignments so it's difficult to figure out what he wants on assignments. Quizzes are difficult to study for because he's unclear about what material will be on the quiz. Grading scheme is very unclear, and virtually no feedback is given on any graded assignment. Overall I would not recommend

I think Jon is really helpful. I'm the type of person to bombard professors with questions and never once did he grow impatient. Overall, he has a great sense of humor and is very approachable if you have questions, which was very helpful. Additionally, he did a great job preparing the class for exams and would clearly emphasize what was important.

He is the best teacher ever. He is really easy to talk to and willing to spend time with students. He explains the lab well as long as you pay enough attention. If anything goes wrong, just tell him; he won't judge you or anything; he is always there to help you

Definitely recommend taking 304 with him! Jon cares a lot about students; if you ever have a question, just ask him; he is really easy to approach. He also likes talking to students, which is nice! I like how he always tell stories in class to keep class interesting. Also he explaining 304 material really clear. The class is fun as well!

He is very charismatic, but lectures are not organized. He says he stars the questions you need to know... not true. I'm not convinced I learned much. The curve is generous though.

Really disorganized and teaches whatever he wants to. No real logic or flow to the class. Basically have to memorize all the lecture slides.

Jon teaches many micro labs/classes. He is a wonderful and very enthusiastic teacher and really engages students. His classes are typically easy if you have an interest in BacT. Great guy and a great teacher. Note: Jon is not always the most organized guys ever and at first it can be frustrating, just know that there is method to his madness

Super nice guy. Relates with his students well and is always willing to help. Sometimes expectations aren't really clear though. We had to deal with inconsistencies as well. The TAs are really the ones responsible for lecturing and grading though. Three exams, 2 lab reports, no final, a few assignments.

Great guy. Very helpful but definitely needs to be asked to clarify things. This class really depends on the TA you have but overall its not too bad.

I had an incredibly high interest level before this class. Now I don't. There is no grading scheme. Its more of an ongoing independent project. I go to class to learn from the professor, not do my own independent research. I already do that at my lab, I don't need to do another one. Sh*t class take if you want to mess your GPA up.
