Lectures aren't very helpful as he spends a lot of time deriving formulas and almost none doing practical examples. The material is presented in a pretty vague manner. His exams are unnecessarily difficult but they're curved a lot. Don't expect anything similar to past exams on your exam.

Very clear in lectures, most organized prof at McGill. Puts practice midterms/finals as well as problem sets with solutions the very first day. However, expect a completely new exam each time. You have to understand very good the material. Overall great course that covers a lot. Exams may be tricky and not straight, but easy when u know what to do.

His Fields&Waves class is impossible, but he curves a lot. Be reasonably smart and practice the hell out of the past finals and you should be fine. The tutorials are semi-useless, and your success in the class is based on your comprehension of the core fundamentals and your ability to reason. I'd say we're pretty lucky that Jon Webb is teaching i.
