His flipped class format may throw you off in the beginning, but you learn physics at a much deeper level by working with your peers. Make sure you complete all the worksheets, which are more important than the textbook problems. This professor knows his stuff and wants to see you succeed in physics. Also, not too hard to get an A.

Professor Cole now has a flipped classroom similar to Joe Salamon's Physics classes. If you're lazy, you won't do well in this course at all since you have to study a lot on your own. 50% of your grade is on participation and completing the worksheets. If you complete the worksheets and do the readings, you'll pass. Quizzes are pretty difficult.

Professor Cole is a gem! This was a very interesting class, however, his lectures can sometimes be dull. There are weekly quizzes on the video lectures so take good notes. Show up to class because participation matters. There's a research paper due at the end of the semester. He really cares about his students and wants everyone to pass. Take him!

Professor Cole certainly knows his field well. He cares about his students, but probably pampers them too much. Lectures are informative, but can run a little long. The exams are a little on the easy side, just pay attention to the wording & dont rush. Welcomes questions and makes sure students understand material. Curves exams and course.

Professor Cole certainly knows his field. He cares about his students, but probably over pampers them. Lectures are informative, but can be a little long. Exams are a little on the easy side, but pay attention to the wording & dont rush. Good notes during semester are essential as prepping for final can be difficult due to scope of course.

Professor Cole is without a doubt one of the best professors that I have ever had. I am a biochemistry major, but he made me fall in love with physics. It is a very difficult class; however, it is not impossible. This class requires hours of studying and completing homework is a necessity even though he does not collect it.

One of the best professors I've ever had. His lectures are clear & he asks questions at the beginning of the class to make sure we all understand. He's a very fair grader. He's also very accommodating. I learned a lot from him! I chose him again for 152. It's difficult to get into his class because he is THAT good. I recommend him 100%

Such an amazing Professor and person! He makes physics much more understandable(even when it comes to quantum mechanics). Very reasonable grader and exams are of reasonable difficulty. I have had him for several classes, and only had the misfortune of taking a different professor for phys2. I would highly recommend him!

Best Professor Ever! So smart, so kind and knows how to teach students! I take every class I can with him. He makes me actually really like physics, and going to class is always enjoyable. I don't want to miss his class. Easy to talk to, often chats with us outside of class. His office hours help too, always willing to help if you ask him! 5 stars!

Took for physics 1 and 3 ( unfortunately couldn't for 2). I forgot how awesome physics was until I came back. He is a great professor because he's very connected to what a new students ability is to grasp concepts, able to convey them to us at the entry level. Very rare nowadays. Artist: J Cole, Album: Physics 253. Give it a listen.

Let's put it this way. Prof. Cole inspired me so much in Physics, I started to do well in Gen Chem 1 and 2. I ended up choosing Aerospace Engineering major and getting accepted to USC partly thanks to the inspiration from Prof. Cole. Do your homework, read the textbook, and practice hw again before tests. You'll be golden in his class.

This is an amazing class, and I think it should be mandatory in one form or another. Professor Cole is very engaging and the lectures were not boring. I felt like I was attending a conference with respected peer, or something. There were a few quizzes, midterm, and final. Just make sure to do the lecture study guides!

Bad ass dude with lots of knowledge. Never had someone break down physics so easily. Exams are simple, exactly what he covers in class. Honestly a great person and even better professor. Keeps class interesting with lots of applications and connections to the real world. Dont hesitate to take him, a legend for sure! Climate change class cool!

I don't know what people are talking about ! I am or I should say was a 4.0 and got all A in ochem and bio and calc2 and studied like crazy for this class and ended with a B! Most of the students were retaking this class and they ended with an A. We started with 32 students and at final there were 12! No joking ! Avoid this class!!

5 Tests (drops one) and a Final. Very relaxed and willing to answer any type of physics related question. Some light humor.Tests have less challenging questions than those of other teachers. Lectures include homework review, lecture, then lab. IMO, faces the board a bit too much and misses raised hands, so speak up.
