I only payed attention to the lectures half the time and still did very well in his class. The new online book and homework are very helpful. Tests can be a little tricky but not terrible. He jumps around a lot which is kinda funny, but I'd rather that than a boring monotone voice. He's very nice and easy to follow with the slides. Would recommend

It's not hard to pass the class and the professor is very nice and very knowledgeable. I would love to take more classes with him. There's homework due every week and he gives extra credit for going to tutoring.

He is terrible . Never will take him again . Doesnt teach well and will make you behind in all your other classes. Never learned anything from him and its like he makes stuff up in class sometimes. The textbook is extremely hard to understand and its very confusing. exams are hard

Professor Conning is alright. He does care about making things clear in class, it is just hard to pay attention in class the way he teaches. His slides are not helpful when it comes to doing the homework so you will have to learn it by using the textbook. At time the textbook doesn't make clear either. I would say take another professor if you can

Exams were difficult and the practice exam was nothing like the real exam. Lectures are long and theres too much information being force into lectures. Sometimes he makes mistakes or start jumping from one thing to the next and it gets confusing and off track.

Prof. Conning is great. This class was very straightforward and well balanced. Although sometimes he can be kind of boring the way he moves around the classroom all jumpy makes you just have to stay awake. If you're not really into econ. it might be harder but it's very easy to grasp the concepts and he is always there to help.

Professor Conning attempts to clarify to his students any concept they do not understand. He curves a lot though but doesn't necessarily follow the syllabus. He is always a class or two behind. However, It was a pleasure to take him. If you need to take an intro to econ course, take 100 with him. The other professors are harder and stricter.

I would say that the class is life applicable, than many others. The professor is amazing, very engaged and tries to make it relevant to the real world and fun. If you want to learn economics, take him. If you are not interested in trying economics (that is give it a chance), don't waste your and his time. Tests aren't hard if you study.

Great professor but his lectures will bore the life out of you. He explains things clearly but doesn't inspire student in staying interested. Good grader by the way, always curves test grades. Don't bother spending $50 on the online textbooks. It isn't necessary as long as you're listening in class.

He is great. Its clear that he is passionate about what he teaches. Sometimes his lectures go off on a tangent. His lectures are engaging, especially with the prisoner delema example. Participation matters so make sure you have your iClicker. As long as you do the practice midterms and read the textbook you will be able to get a good grade.

Lectures are super long and sometimes could get very dull and boring. But the online homework is fairly easy if you pay attention and easy to get a good grade on them.

He's a nice guy, but this class will bore you to oblivion. His shy voice and constant stammering will lull you to sleep. I hate being absent, but I had to skip lectures in order to save my soul, just like 3/4 of the other students who only came on exam days. He did curve every test by A LOT, and I didn't expect my grade, but the class felt endless.

Really boring. A bunch of powerpoint slides. A couple of problem sets to turn in. Exams are decent but a bit difficult. Avoid if possible.

Horrible. His class is so boring, but if you're looking for a class you don't have to attend, this is it. It's just a bunch of lectures and slides which isn't necessarily a bad thing, but he makes it bad. I love econ and he made it boring and difficult to understand. But since attendance isn't mandatory of course everyone gives him a high rating.

Prof. Conning is always trying to engage his students in relevant economics. He gets a bit too excited and always runs out of time before the end. His exams seem to be more difficult than his lecture notes, but his notes provide enough information to not have to read every word in the textbook. Online hw is a pain but he weighs grades very fairly.

The class was boring because it was 75 minutes of powerpoint. It's not completely his fault since we were in a lecture hall. He puts the powerpoint slides online and only took attendance 2-3 times. If you do well on the online HW and fairly well on the two midterms/final then you'll get at least a C+.

Loved him!! Really easy, laidback teacher. Increased my interest in economics. His tests are relatively fair if you actually pay attention to the class. Overall, I'd take him again.

He's a nice guy and he really wants to help his students. Sometimes he loses focus but he stresses the most important parts of the lectures. Attempt to do the online homeworks, study his lecture slides and the textbook for the exams and it's a fair A.
