I took him for critical thinking and it was a very useful and interestint class. He's a nice guy and is willing to help or explain things if you ask him. He is entertaining to watch because he paces around alot and is very animated. He seems to be jacked up on coffee on a gallon of coffee.

Awesome guy! So funny! Worth taking just for his antics. He gives quizes but always drops hints the class before. Just do the readings and you'll do fine =)

Prof Gainor was one of the most amusing and passionate professors at York College... I'm sad to see him leave, but I'm sure all the students at his new college (full time at HACC) will enjoy him as much as we have.

Wow ... what a werido. Parts of this class were painful to sit through but the assignments, tests, and his grading is SO EASY its almost worth it. If you do well enough through the semester, you can get out of the final too. But don't miss class or you will get lost QUICK. I am still deciding if I would take him again.

Sure, he's a bit on the crazy side. But he's an easy grader, and his quizzes can really bump up your grade. I didn't read most of the required readings, but I still managed to get a 4. Basically, he just wants you to think. If you can give him a textbook answer, that's great. But if you can form your own opinion, you'll earn his respect.

Gainor is enthusiastic, smart and funny. One of the hardest working people i've met in my life (teaches at YCP, HACC, PSU (york), and bartends. Extremely caring and helpful and always good for some sarcastic medlings about the establishment or to learn some words you'll never use. Great Prof.

Let me just say that I love Prof. Gainor. He's a trip--and I totally agree w/ the guy who said it's like somebody wound him up & set him loose in the classroom. He presents the material engagingly, and if you understand & write down the stuff he writes on the board, you'll do ok. Book is definitely necessary, but he's not a bad grader.

Probably one of the smartest people I've ever met; he seems to know something about everything. EXTREMELY good speaker, very engaging. It's like someone wound him up and let him go in the classroom. I thought the course material was hard, though. I didn't do so well.

Kind of a so-so class. Towards the end of the semester I got pretty bored, and we went over a bunch of questions that really weren't necessary, but I suppose I did grasp it all by the end of the semester. Interesting class as I like analyzing arguments, etc.

I couldn't stand this class. It was painful and greuling. We learned nothing about anything except political analysts (which I don't care about).

He's a nice guy, but a little on the strange side (he knows he is) and finds humor in pointing that out. Just do the readings and show up for class and there shouldn't be any problems.

I had him for another class freshman year, back when he had long hair. He talks about a lot of current events and politics, which can be a fun and/or relevant tie-in to class discussion (can get off-track, too). A very animated speaker. This class isn't particularly difficult.

A very dedicated professor! He is kind of weird but in an entertaining way. Very vocal about his beliefs which I tend to agree with and wouldn't mind taking another class with him. Actually thought about majoring in PHI after taking this class.

He is very liberal and vocal about politics, so conservative students may be uncomfortable in the class. He has a lot of pet conspiracy theories, but at least he'll keep you awake and interested. There was only one major essay, graded pretty rigorously.
