Comment:
I appreciate Luke's effort to teach. He seems to genuinely care. However, in linear algebra he teaches a lot of mathematical theory and does not often teach on how to actually do the problems. He does not properly prepare people for the exams.

Luke does not teach you what will be on the exams for linear algebra, you are better off going to the tutoring center and getting help there. However, you do have to go to every class because he gives out quizzes every class.

Comment:
Prof Luke is very intelligent, that much is obvious, but he has no idea how to teach a class. Most of the time in Linear he spent the time talking about what we will be doing, if you could understand him as he constantly mumbles at the end of his sentences. Tests were "easy" but at times it felt like a waste of time being in the classroom w/him.

He's the man...He will make you work your ass off for the grade but he knows how to teach. The exams are tricky and you need to be intelligent to do well in them...this class is not for dumb asses

Comment:
Prof. Luke is one of the worst professors I've had at NJIT. He's very hard to understand and follow; he isn't clear when explaining things at all, and he is always making mistakes on the board. The textbook was pretty much useless; there was so much theoretical stuff in there and not many examples at all. The HW is long, the tests are tricky. Booo!

Material requires good study habits. Funny at times, very relaxed and well spoken. Does make mistakes, but gives you explanations for them so you understand what not to do. Homework can be difficult. Exams are tricky. Matlabs are cake. An easy A for good students. Easy to at least pass. Drop out if you fail, you're not cut out for college.

Good for wasting time and drawing flashing stars on the blackboard. Takes his time but doesn't teach well. Makes tons of mistakes on the board, then says it's too late to correct them. On the good side his quizzes are few and easy, he also speaks good English.

Very nice professor and funny, but kinda hard. Gives lots of quizzes but they are easy and mostly unrelated. I'd take him again.

he could care less about students. More concerned with his own research.
