I have the honor of having this guy as my academic advisor as well. Kerber just defines the phrase "the man" whenever you have a chance to take a class with him, take it.

So. Easy. There is work (presentation, response papers, long term paper) but the work is not hard to complete and his grading is VERY easy. He gives possible questions for the midterm/final in advance, meaning if you take the time to prepare for them you get an A. The material itself is out of the textbook & boring but he's a decent prof overall.

Field Methods was really fun and one of the most interesting courses I've taken at Colgate. Grading is really simple and the only work is the paper at the end. Course does require a large amount of time since you are in the field from 1-4:30 twice a week.

Intro to Archaeo was so boring. Sure it's easy but I have a hard time staying awake in class. I was really excited about archaeology but he killed my interest. Also: this is not "classical archaeology" which I didn't know going into it. That means no Greece, Rome, or Egypt. Just be aware...

really not as easy as everyone says. Got a good grade in the class, but you really do have to come to class and try (however certainly this is by no means a challenging class). Alot of the class didn't do anything and got Cs and Bs....but overall decent though archaeology is somewhat boring.

Not the best but certainly not bad. Covers topics well in class but its sometimes hard to tie everything together. Likes to see some original thought in papers and rewards for it. Overall a good professor.

theres barely any work at all for this class. the hardest thing about it is probably the 10 page paper, but all culture classes have this requirement. class is kind of boring though, but i recommend him

SO EASY! it's ridic how easy it is, but you have to be willing to come to class, which can get really boring sometimes but if you learn to laugh at him then it's alright. but seriously it's not hard to get an A in his class

Comment:
The prof. repeats himself constantly and treats students as though the course was a 6th grade social studies class rather than a 300-level SOAN course. He doesn't expect students to be creative enough to come up wiIt their own thesis statements, and he gives other students' theses to the rest of the class. It's insulting to students' intelligence.

This professor was outstanding. He taught me personally more about Native Americans than I have ever learned before in school. I would say that the thing to get out of this class is that you learn to steer away from discriminations and stereotypes. Only one term paper, midterm and final.

Its a good class...its annoying though because he thinks students have the intelligence of 5th graders. Tests are not bad if you put in the effort and the work load isn't bad. You watch a lot of movies too!
