Steckel is frail thousand year old turtle, he's basically deaf moves at a glacial pace and never assigns clear assignments. He is not knowledgable on art and prefers to make up his own version of history. He doesn't encourage creativity and I spent six weeks sanding a plaster phallus. Get. Out. Now. Six weeks left & he still doesn't know everyone.

He's very honest about your work, good or bad, and may outright tell you it sucks. But the improvements he suggests are almost always good. A lot of people seem confused by him because he's an old guy who talks like a teenager obsessed with women. Personally, I think he's actually very insightful and knows exactly what he's doing in the art world.

This guy's a jerk. Will directly attack you AND your work. Surprisingly disrespectful and rude for a man with such a distinctive resume (designed the new doors for the stature of liberty). Likes to yell but not in a helpful manner. Thinks his students are too incompetent to complete their own assignments. No real learning environment whatsoever.

Very vivacious, but his type of enthusiasm is not for all. He'll tell you how good your work is with the same amount of energy he tells you it sucks. But he does tell you how to make it better. He's a nice man, but very set in his ways. Often times will take tools away from you and start hacking away at your piece. It's annoying, but you will learn

his voice is like casey kasem! very laid back guy, helpful critiques in which he tells you what's not working in your design. he's funny... says things you don't expect an old guy to say (ask him about playing bongos in a strip joint). the first semester was really slow but the class picked up. usually lets us out early. i'd recommend him.

He is a fun to be with kind of person who loves Jazz and Arts. He has a sculpture background from Yale, and he is very skilled in his area. He teaches 3D with senses-not equations, and that's why many people get confused about his teaching method. Learn to have your own sense is actually extremely hard thing to earn, and he is teaching this..

Steckel rocks man! I dunno what you're talking about. He talks exactly like Woody Allen and there is never an extreme ammount of homework. He does what he can to keep supply spending low and you do cool projects while learning a lot.
