Dr. Brea is a very nice man but his lectures are boring and he tends to ramble. He gives a study guide but the exams are still very hard. Do not buy the book.

Comment:

Lectures are extremely boring, but you can tell he knows his stuff and is passionate about Latin America. There are a few assignments that are all easy 100%s. He gives study guides for exams that are the exact test questions, and will give all the answers to the study guide during a review period before the exam.

Comment:

Jorge is amazing! Hes the cutest old man ever with a great sense of humor. Hes very passionate about Latin America. His lectures are a little dry, but the material is good. His online book is an easy read. Study for the quizzes and tests and you will get an A! I

I took this class due to people on this site saying it was an easy A. That could not be more false. In this class, there is a total of 257 points possible (3 exams, 3 assignments, 2 quizzes). To get an A you need 240/25793%. That means you can only get 17 points deducted the ENTIRE semester. So get 100% on every HW&Quiz, and an A on each exam.

Comment:

This is by far the most boring class I ever took but I did end up learning a lot. Lecture is tough to sit through because he is so dry and boring but take the study guide and assignments seriously or you will not pass the class. The study guide is everything, especially because the low amount of total points makes them weigh heavily.

Brea, is pretty cool and his class is easy. His lectures are dry and class is boring less you are really interested in the topic. His assignments are really easy and he gives extra credit at the end of the semester. Also, he gives you study guides for the exams and they are mostly all on the test. If you need a easy 300 level take it.

Dr. Brea is an absolutely wonderful person to be around. He lightens up the room when he is in it. The class is not hard if you study and put in minimal effort on papers. An easy A.

Cutest little old man ever. Anyone who says this class is hard is insane, they clearly didn't study for even a second. He gives study guides with the exact test questions, and leaves a whole class period for people to ask questions about the study guide. He is the sweetest person ever and this class is just so beyond easy. One of the easiest A's

There's only three exams and three easy assignments. He gives a study guide with a bunch of questions and will go over the questions in class so you have the right answers. For exams you need to study to pass. Don't buy the book.

He puts the notes on the board so as long as you go to class and know the notes front to back you will do good in the class. Tests are multiple choice and straight from the notes. A few short papers are given for HW and gives some extra credit.

Comment:

Jorge was one of the best professors I have had so far. He is from Latin America so you can expect an accent (sounds more German than Hispanic) but he is very easy to understand. Class isn't mandatory but the notes he gives are exactly whats going to be on the test. I loved the class and the teacher, defiantly recommended.

you get out what you put in. it is not an easy class but he gives out study guides that go over everything that will be on the test and if you pay attention in class it will all be in your notes. He really tries to make class interesting for the students and is funny in an odd way. classes can be boring but if you focus you should do fine.

He's funny and tries to make class engaging. The exams are strait from the notes and the class average on exams is sill "D"'s. There are no powerpoints. All notes are from in class and the book. This class is only good to fill the foreign language UP (IVB)
