Jorge was the best professor I've ever had and that I would ever have. His musicianship goes beyond excellence. He is absolutely passionate about music, and his approach to it is sincere and honest. His conducting technique is the best I've ever known. He is an incredibly kindhearted man. I would study with him a lifetime if I could!

Dr. Perez-Gomez is possibly the most brilliant man I've ever come across. He is inspiring. Language barrier? Kids that say that need to re-learn english. He is tough in a way that challenges and pushes but is fair and gentle if you go to him. He will go to the end of the world for you if you show interest and respect. What an experience!

i think the main problem with pg is the laguage barrier. he knows what he wants, he knows what the music should sound like, but there's a problem trying to convey it to everyone else. he knows a lot of people, he's a good connection to do things and go places. in his case, he's not as strong as his weakest link. people need to see that.

Conducting class, fall 1994. He is a good professor, but taught class free-hand conducting instead of baton technique. When I went to advanced conducting at a different school I was expected to be comfortable with a baton. Otherwise, he was a good inst
