Comment:

Professor Sweerus is so funny, he makes an 8:30am class worth it. He understands studnets are busy with tons of other work, so he always tries to alleviate the stress with his humor. There is not much work, only one blog post per week and a few other assignements. There is a midterm and a final, but he lets you pick the date of the tests!!!

Prof. Sweerus is funny, caring, and wants you to just do the work. He is approachable and really a great person when you know him. Grades were not posted on canvas. There is a psa, press release, script writing. He approaches with a different teaching style based on class needs. Do the work and actually care and your grade will reflect that.

Decent professor who is super laid back and kind of don't give a f&%* about anything. Has the attention span of a squirrel. Class was a waste of money but is a major requirement. You won't know your grade till final grades come out on NEST. Saved all assignments till the end of the semester which was unfair. But, he's a better choice than the rest.

Very laid back professor. He is funny but gets off topic a lot. I learned a few things but not as much as I expected. He leaves everything till the last month of the semester and then you'll learn most of the material. You won't know your grade during the semester.

Great guy, you don't do any reading in class and there is not much reviewing in class, other than the review before a test. If you do the assignment then you get an A. Talks about the subject and makes it relatable.

I guess he is funny but he is so cynical and negative, I hated this class. Learned literally nothing. Didn't take one note. This class is very easy since you barely do anything all semester, but this class was a waste of time and money. Only "big" assignments are the blog and 21 hours of crew work. Easy to pass but don't expect much.

The BEST professor I ever had from the School of Communication & Media! He is so friendly & funny. Also very knowledgable about Writing for the Media. Class was easy as cake! A bunch of writing assignments, can seem like a lot, but he is such an easy grader. Got A's on all of them. No midterm or final exam for my class. Would take again! Take him!

He goes off topic often, its not as bad if you sit on your computer and multitask through his lectures. The assignments aren't anything to stress over and he is a very easy grader unlike majority of the professors in this major. He's a great conversationalist and really funny most of the time. He is a good guy. There are about 5 assignments throughout that are clearly stated at the beginning of the semester. He goes off track a lot but he is funny. He follows the MSU attendance policy (no more than 2 absences). He doesn't care about lateness or if you have your phone out. I am taking him again next semester. He's very chill.

Professor Sweerus is a lot of fun. He makes the class enjoyable and is very understanding of students' feelings. He strikes up interesting conversations and will always cause lots of laughs during class. I had him on Fridays and I loved going. Definitely take him for speech.

He isn't a bad professor, but he isn't that fantastic, etiher. I was annoyed because the tests were based on material in the book that we never talked about in class. People love talking to him but he always seems disinterested. He's a good professor if you're dreading taking speech. If you don't mind speeches then you may not like him.

Dr. Sweerus creates a comfortable atmosphere for students to learn the speechmaking process. He uses humor and games to teach important concepts, not just about speech but also about life. Do not let his laidback style deceive you into thinking him an easy grader though. He is neither the most lenient grader nor the hardest, but he is fair.
