Civilization & Culture of Mexico: Agree totally with last entry. SO MUCH vocabulary. Class sort of boring. Instead of final, we had option to write a 5 page paper in Spanish of a person we had studied (Lazaro Cardenas, Benito Juarez, Pancho Villa etc.)

Santana is a nice enough guy, but this is one of the most difficult Spanish classes I have taken so far. The tests are KILLER. Make sure you study super hard and know everything. It seemed like we glossed over so much and didn't learn anything in detail, but I guess there's just a lot of info to cover in the class.

spanish for profetionals. this was one of the most difficult classes i have ever taken. you get 50+ vocab to know a week and you need to know them all. if you keep up, this class will be great for your fluency and working vocabulary. even native speakers have a hard time in this class. still a great experiance and a great teacher

conversationsal spanish (5a i think) great teacher. you will learn. he adds a little humor and will teach you some slang. he is very helpful. the assignment are pretty easy and, if you keep up with the meterial, the tests are easy too. highly recomend!!

Although he is very approachable, he is also one of the most boring professors on the planet. So I hated his class and he all but ruined the tour of Spain for me. I couldn't stand to listen to his commentary on the bus. The worst thing by far is his BOOK. 'Adivinanzas' is the worst and by far most boring book you'll ever have to read in your life!!

Professor Santana is just an awesome spanish instructor, particularly for beginners - though he rarely teaches Spanish 1A. If he does and you need that class, take him!

He is a great director of the summer program. The trips are well organized, run smoothly and you get to see/learn everything about the different countries. Unfortunately his class is LOTE memorization/needs more opportunity for discussion/enrichment.

Friendly person but what he teaches in the class is irrelevant to what he'll put on the test. If you are studying for his grad exam study way beyond his study guidlines. It's what he doesn't talk about that will show up on the exam.

I would think twice before going abroad with him. He's a nice person, but not a good leader. She was too busy with his wife on our trip to pay attention to what was going on in the group! This was my third study abroad and it was by far the worse!
