Jose is a very nice man, but it doesn't seem like he puts a lot of planning into the mandatory lectures. Most of class consists of him reading the examples out of the textbook and then you reading the same ones to your partner. The class itself is not hard if you have taken Spanish before and 100 is nice since each test is based on one chapter.

Prof. Guerrero is a very nice man from Spain who loves what he does. He's very knowledgable about the language, but his teaching style was not the best (in my opinion.) His classes mostly consist of him going through the online textbook and repeating Spanish words to your partner. He is very strict about attendance and his exams tend to be tricky.

Keep up with the assignments and be sure to understand everything clearly. Good luck trying to get him to grade something you turned in late or clear up any confusion on an assignment. Help classmates out so you all understand what is going on. He truly does care about his students and he wants to help, as long as you put forth a solid effort.

Nice guy but do NOT take Spanish 100 with him. Attendance is graded and if you miss any assignments you will get a zero. I've gotten As in every other Spanish class and have a great understanding of it but got a C with him. Class is an absolute waste of time, the only thing you do is read through the book. He forgets if you email him.

He always looks perplexed and confused. Even though the syllabus says what we're supposed to do for that day it seems that we do nothing in relation to what it says. If you have the opportunity to take the class with any other professor please do, maybe you'll get more out of the class than i did.

This class was such an easy A. You have to study for the exams, but he is overall such an easy teacher. You have 3 or 4 exams, a paper, a presentation, and 2 partner conversations that are graded. Everything is super easy. The homework is easy, he uses his own book which is $30 and super easy to understand. Loved this class

Jose is such a great guy! If you need help with anything, he is so happy to help in office hours! He tells you exactly what is on the exams with 0 surprises! I did not think my spanish was good enough for a 300 level but I did great in this class and enjoyed it too! FOR SURE take it with him he is great! You also learn very useful Spanish terms!

Really good teacher. Gives you study guides that are exact copies of the tests. Nice guy, wants you to do well. Pretty easy class overall and he makes it semi-enjoyable. Definitely take him.

Take him for Iberian Civilization.Despite what previous posters have stated about his tendency to space out, he is a really nice guy; class is interesting/easy & all in English. Takes attendance everyday,& you need to read the book, but the test are EXACTLY the same as the study guide...most of the class had no trouble getting an A.

Tony is a little spacey. The class moves kind of slow and his explanations are not that helpful. He's really nice and somewhat patient, but you might struggle if you don't have a good background in Spanish grammar.

He doesnt know how to teach. Yes he is spanish but his teaching skills stink...and the class isnt interesting at all. It seems like he doesnt plan out what he is going to do and makes it up as he goes along..take it with a different teacher if u can..otherwise u might end up hating the class like me and everyone else in his classes.

He is really nice as a person and he knows spanish, I think. but he def. can't teach it, 99% of his expanations are: "um...well, yeah, that...well...um...YEAH" I mean he is not terrible and if you have to take spanish with him, do it, but better to find a different prof.

Comment:
He is an absolute doll! Very upbeat and engaging -- once started class with yoga chants. The material is covered in a very manageable fashion, and the poetry analysis component is a really interesting way to supplement. Good texts and workbook-- get the dictionary, too. Highly recommended prof!
