Took his online Film History & Appreciation class, definitely an easy A. Easy weekly assignments and quizzes. However, if you have technical problems and need to reach him he rarely ever responds to emails. Would recommend his class.

Inside the class, Bierman is great. Outside, he's hard to get ahold of and is UNRESPONSIVE to emails. So, I tried calling and his voice mail says the best way to reach his is through email. haha.

I've had this man for Film Production 1, 2, International Cinema, and Film Writing. He's a very good teacher on all of these classes and they are a lot of fun. He can be a bit lost with technology (which is weird considering he does Film 1/2) but overall he is the best man for the job teaching you film.

first off, as an advisor, once you can finally schedule an appointment with him, he is very little help. as a teacher, he picks favorites and everyone else in the class just falls behind. i love film, it is my life, and bierman made me consider switching majors...

Dr. Bierman is a great teacher. The projects you do in Film 2 are such a jump in quality from Film 1. He teaches you a lot, but you can learn even more from him if you show an interest in the material. He's got great stories.

I have no interest in film what so ever, but I love this class. I didnt know I was so attracted to short balding men. Seriously though, he's hot. I'm totally ignorant towards all things film, but he's helped me out tremendously, he explains things so that even dumbass's like me can figure it out

This guy honestly thinks he knows how to make a good film, when in fact he only knows how to talk a great game. impatient and arrogant. cant recommend him.

I was not a film major. In fact I very much dislike film, and always found the people interested in it to be crazy. Then I took Bierman's class. I still don't like film, but he was probably the greatest professor I had a Rowan. Joe is interesting, he knows his stuff, and knows how to relate it to whatever your interests are. He is funny, and he is a great listener and was even there to help me with other classes that I had issues in that were not those he was teaching. He was a great teacher, & friend.

Seriously, why isn't he at NYU or USC? Oh well, better for Rowan. In film 1 you learn the most with the most freedom in projects. Film 2 is a good compliment to film 1 (color film). Advanced is more like a seminar/job in filmmaking than a class but still fun. Great teacher, nice guy, and funny too.

Bierman is a filmmaking genious! The fact that agrees to work at Rowan shows his generosity. He has the caliber to work at USC or NYU. You learn alot in his classes and will have the best time at Rowan. Rowan gets an "F-Minus", Bierman gets

He rules. He knows his stuff, and that counts for everything. He has industry experience, contacts for after I graduate, and he will answer any question thoughtfully and fully. I don't know why anyone wouldn't have a great experience in his class.

Bierman is simply one of the best that Rowan has to offer. A true "Motion Picture" industry professional. Take his class and learn the best film-making that Rowan can teach at this time. If you don't take his class, your loss.
