Professor Bryant was a pleasure to listen to. The depth of his knowledge shows in every lecture, and his use of anecdotes and other historical references both gives context for understanding and keeps it interesting. Some people found it a lot of information then to sift through, you just need to listen and not try to transcribe the whole lecture.

Awesome professor, actually knows how to clearly express what he is talking about. Would say that he was one of the better profs at UFT (as many assistant profs in other classes are not able to clearly teach on the same level as him ) his experience is apparent in his lectures - very knowledgeable ( actual university-level teacher )

Prof Bryant is THE BEST PROF at UofT! He's extremely caring as he wants all his students to do well. If your grade improves over the course period, then he will give you extra points! Assignments are fun to do & tests are fairly easy. Marking criteria is also clear & fair. I would take any class he teaches because he truly acknowledges your effort.

Professor Bryant is a truly inspirational teacher. His classes were entertaining and he seems to really care about his students and helping them learn. I would definitely recommend taking a class with him if you get the chance. He goes above and beyond to help students succeed. You can do great in SOC250 as long as you pay attention to his lectures

Prof Bryant's attitude is super chill, which I love. I find theory really difficult (took the course so I could read Malcolm X but it's actually classical theory-intensive); if you enjoy theory and thinkers, I recommend the course. Studied incessantly to get low 80s so if you're looking for an easy A, this ain't it (but def possible to do alright).

Professor Bryant is probably one of the most smartest sociology professors I've had the honour of being lectured by. He's so incredibly smart that it's almost intimidating, but he breaks down these classical theorists and makes it SO relevant to your life, it's actually inspiring. Hands down, one of my favourite sociology professors at this school!

Highly knowledgeable professor who offers fluid lectures interlaced with discussions to help the class tackle its own unique aspirations for the course material, and is willing to adjust curriculum according to students. Loves to go in-depth on certain subjects to make the class more interesting and engaging. Classy and relaxed.

One of the most eloquent and clearest professors at UofT. He genuinely is concerned when students are not achieving at a high rate, and does whatever he can to ensure people walk out with the grade they want. Tests are extremely fair, with everything being covered in class. No surprises. If you listen attentively, you will do very well!

His lectures are crucial because everything shows up on the tests and the exam. There is a lot of material he covers, but you can discern the important themes and stick to those on the exams. Revise what you're doing every two-three weeks because it will make your life easy for the tests and the exams. Whatever you do, do not skip the lectures.

I found the course very interesting. Prof. Bryant is a great lecturer who doesn't rely on presentation slides to do the teaching. If you wish to take a true 'lecture' style class I would really recommend this course. He did provide electronic copies of his notes which I found helpful. Written assignments were especially enjoyable.

Amazing prof who is able to keep students totally engaged for the whole lecture; a truly great thing in my opinion. Tests can be pretty specific which can be brutal considering how much material there is from each lecture but doable. Overall a great class about looking at religion objectively that I would suggest anyone to take:)

One of my favorite profs so far because of my interest in religion and his knowledge. Bryant knows what he's talking about, and he speaks clearly and connects all of his points (easier for you to remember content). The shortcoming comes from the TA's. They are non-responsive and grade unfairly. Take this course if you love religion but not your gpa

Professor Bryant was enthusiastic with the material, but his lectures were very bland. The content was boring and when it came to assignments and exams, the clarity was horrible. The TA's did not know anything about the content and the marking scheme and consistency was horrendous. The TA's need to be let go or the course will suffer heavily.

Professor Bryant is an excellent instructor. His teaching style and the clarity of his lectures are unbelievable. Overall his lectures are so interesting and I learned very new and interesting material in this course from Professor Bryant. The attendance wasn't mandatory but you have to attend each lecture to really understand the material.

Great professor who is extremely knowledgeable not only about the topic he teaches but in general. Cares about your learning experience. I appreciated that he lectured rather than read off of slides. T.A.s were not helpful. To improve the course, should hire T.A.s who are more passionate about helping students like the professor.

He's a pretty good professor in the sense that he explains his notes pretty well. You have to go to class, trust me, he gives notes but to fill out the notes with most of the info, class is a must. Tests and essays are graded super tough by the tas. But in general the class is cool, only take it if you are interested in the topic or you won't do we
