Comment:

Professor seemed passionate about his work but was unable to explain the topics taught well and students were often left struggling to figure them out on their own. Class on average lagged a letter grade behind students in other classes. Homework on mastering physics was worth a significant portion of your grade and was very challenging.

Comment:

I wish I could give this guy a 0. He'll throw things on a test he reviewed in class for a minute and expect you to be an expert. The final had NO correlation to the final. Basically, the best way to pass is guessing. Good luck future engineers!

Comment:

While the professor himself is a lovely man, he isn't much of a teacher. He lectures throughout the entire class, but doesn't teach you about ANYTHING that will be on the homework or tests later. You are really on your own, make sure to use the SI sessions as much as possible and a Chegg account works wonders.

Comment:

I love physics so maybe thats why I didnt mind his class as much as my peers. It can get hard but he offers up to 10% extra credit. Just a warning: he really cares about your work so make sure you show your work the way he does in class. I was really messy about my work and got a lot of points taken off the first test.

He's convinced that students always want to do the "algebra method" of Physics instead of the "geometry method" which he alludes to but never teaches. He's also a bit hard to understand and hard to reach outside of class.

From what I know, the whole Phys department at this school is not the best, at least the ones that teach Phys 1. He expects you to know things that you may not know and provides no extra material to help learn material. He clarifies by restating what he already said, which isn't helpful. Physics is hard in general, but with him it's ever harder.

Worst teacher I have ever had. Instead of trying to help when you get an answer wrong in class, he gets mad at you for not knowing how to do it. Skips so many important explanations because he assumes you know everything already (why would we be taking the class then?). Quizzes are 1 question each and he takes off for every little thing.

As others have said he is an awful teacher and you must solve problems his way, not easierfaster ways you learned in high school. He's oblivious to what goes on in the classroom. Also you must study hard for his exams as he takes points off for everything like your drawings which he expects you to have and he wants them to look nice, not a sketch

Worst Teacher I ever had In my life. His explanations are stupid. He often introduces new formulas with out explaining them or which letters represent which unit. Here my favorite part he likes to take points off for efficiency and no you aren't miss reading this. Basically if there are multiple ways to solve a problem do it his way or fail.

High school physics doesnt translate to this class! Worst teacher in my life. His style is extremely outdated, his lectures are boring, he teaches way too slow, mocks students for not being able to get an right answer, makes weird noises to himself during tests. Need I say more? He will help if you ask but youll leave as confused as you came to him

This professor is terrible. Do not take him. You will fail. Every single teacher in the physics dept at MC sucks. The Austrian one, this guy, every one of them. I hope that Chair is reading this. Not the worst teacher. Is always willing to help out students when they need it and will even push back a test date if he notices the class struggling. If you have prior knowledge of physics his class shouldn't be that hard

Not a horrible teacher, but not the best. He expects a lot from you, but offers some extra help. He grades test and quiz a bit hard. He pays attention to detail so double check everything. Study hard and do all your work and this class won't be as bad as it may first seem.

He expects you to know a lot beforehand, so if you haven't taken physics beforehand you're in for a challenge. He's a nice guy but the class is filled with awkward silences while you attempt to understand his drawings on the board. But he tells you exactly what will be on the test beforehand, and labs are so easy. An A takes work on your own

Terrible Professor. He does not know how to teach. He is willing to help you out if you go to him during his office hours, BUT you probably won't understand anything. Just be annoying, and he will hate you so much that he will give you a good grade because he knows that if you fail, you will take physics again, and you may be stuck with him. BAD BA
