Comment:

He is funny, very caring, and will literally give up DAYS of sleep to grade papers and still meet with you for hours if you don't understand the material. He gives great outside help, clear lectures, the notes are online, and he gives his students access to ALL the previous tests, some tests going back to the 20th century! Would 110% recommend!!!

Entertaining and helpful lectures. Will help you if you're stuck (even in exams sometimes). Exams matter a lot. Fair grading, but he will not miss small mistakes. Oh yeah and he was late a lot.

Comment:

His lectures are helpful, but the lecture notes are the real gem. Homework takes time but isn't too hard. Exams are difficult but he provides plenty of study material. He really wants all his students to pass and tries to take all the anxiety out of exams. He is also hilarious and willing to talk pirate to you.

Dr. Havlicek is amazing! If you can take a class with him, you definitely should. His exams aren't necessarily easy, but he is more than willing to help his students who want the help. He's super entertaining during lecture (and outside of lecture). Definitely do the homework and MATLAB projects.

makes tough concepts stick through silly gestures and analogies. DIP HW projects are fantastic. they're interesting, engaging, and a fun challenge. he assigns a research project that can be very difficult for newcomers to the field of image processing. shows solutions in lecture so you have a clue as what to expect and know you're on target

Havlicek is a great professor, he really wants to see you pass and will do everything he can to help you pass his class. Tests are not hard but as long as you keep asking him questions, he'll keep giving you useful answers.

Excellent professor. He relates to the issues that undergrads go through. Other professors almost seem to want you to go through more pain that they went through. Lectures kept you awake, and homework was manageable. Favorite class of the semester.

He is a really nice guy and wants you to learn. He is very helpful if you go by during office hours. His test are not easy. Just because he is so nice and easy going do not mistake that for an easy test. The material is really hard so study. He is the best guy for the job at that school.

Joebob is awesome. I was lucky to have him as an advisor. He's hilarious, and a great professor, but his classes can be fairly difficult. You'll get a lot of difficult homework, but it's no problem if you make the Asian Connection.
