I was in Joe's FYS he is by far the best teacher I've had at Sarah Lawrence College. If you can take his class DO IT. He is an absolute angel and is brutally dedicated to both his class and his students He takes care to check in with each of my classmates and me on a regular basis. My first year would not have been the same without him: what a guy!

Joe Lauinger is the guy you wish your dad was. Class was the ideal balance between discussion and lecture. We didn't talk about my work too much in conference, but he let me do pretty much whatever I wanted and gave me a good grade. Very sweet, interesting person, an expert in many disciplines who can bring them all together rather neatly.
