open-book quizzes everyday (5 T/F questions), 2 exams (20 T/F questions, 5 short answers). he has a mean, sometimes outdated sense of humor, but it's still funny. gives you a handout of notes for every chapter and a list of study topics for exams. this should make it an easy A, but he words his questions confusingly. i'd take him again if i had to.

not an easy class, material is hard to read, but he gives you notes on everything and a study guide, but they dont help at all. you can memorize the material, but the tests are so hard not b/c of the material, but b/c you have no idea what he is asking. quiz literally every single class on the readings. definitely wouldnt take again, not worth it

SUCH a boring class. no point to going but he takes attendance. however, as long as you read his study guides and can write a basic essay on the concepts he teaches you should be able to get a pretty good grade. Gives quizzes but lets you use the book.

I somehow pulled off an A in this class. Going to class was pointless but mandatory. The lectures are pointless, you won't understand anything when you go back in your notes for what he writes on the board. He gives you a study guide, before the exams go back and make in depth notes on the summary sheets about each exam point. Thats how youll pass

I ignored the comments on his previous ratings thinking the class wouldn't be as hard as people said it was; I was completely wrong. Sitting through his lectures are torture and he doesn't understand that nobody gets what he's trying to say. Seriously avoid at all costs if you have the option to. Felt bad for the guy but just an awful teacher

Look, Lombardi is a strict and difficult teacher. He expects you to put the time and effort into the class. If you think he's an ass, grow up. His humor is dry and highly erudite. He believes that there are such things as stupid questions and stupider answers. Makes a boring subject interesting and fun. Welcomes dissenting discussion.

This class is hard as hell and Lombardi warns you at the start of the semester to change classes if you can. However it is impossible to fail his class with the curve he has and he is actually very witty and funny to listen to at times. Not a bad guy its just the material is very obscure.

Knowledge and Existence had to be the most obscure class I've ever taken. I'm not sure if it was because of the subject matter, or teaching style, or both. After making a point, Fr. Lombardi always followed it with "have I made myself sufficiently obscure?" Now I know he wasn't kidding.

I don't know what everyone complains about. He's really not that bad, maybe getting soft in his old age. If he taught this class to smarter more involved students it would've been great. he's a tough grader on papers but will help you out. great sarcasm, most students too slow to pick up on it but whatever, it's their loss.

Ugh! very mean and tries to scare the class away day 1 (which he is capable of). Quiz every class so make sure you read (open book quiz). Tests are CLOSED book and very challenging. Prob. do better on final because he gives you a study guide w/everything that will be on the test. He was just too smart to be teaching uninterested college students.

The class is hard. Lombardi prides himself on being tough. He will scare away half the class the first day. But he is a really nice guy and knows what he is talking about. It is one of the most abstract Philosophy classes and he knows the material is tough. He will talk you through some tough texts. a quiz every time there is a reading= every day.

his logic class is very valuable for those planning to take the LSAT, however it is liable to damage the old gpa if you dont take to it. - very interesting guy. class is difficult and his manner is prickly. not for those looking to fulfill their philosophy requirement in the easiest way possible, but his class changed my mental landscape.

Father Lombardi is so quirky - I loved him. The quizzes are only difficult if you don't crack a book - and he even drops a handful of your worst quizzes at the end. For exams, he helps you out by handing out detailed summaries of EACH CHAPTER covered!! Amazing. If you actually listen in class, you'll find him & the material very interesting.

By far one of the worst teachers at St. Joes.. Do yourself a favor and do not take him. His lectures are terribly boring, torturous. If you are not the perfect teachers pet, he will simply assume that you are an idiot, and you will recieve a relatively poor grade.
