Lectures are so important to understanding the cases and how they work together. Discussions are helpful for applying principles learned in class. PowerPoints are funny and entertaining in addition to instructive. Highly recommend this course.

Incredibly knowledgeable (partly because he argued many of the major cases). Go to class, otherwise it is hard to know the important takeaways from each case. Professor is great at distilling difficult cases into applicable principles. Fun discussions!

Seems like a nice enough guy, but not an effective prof. His presentation of the material & his use of hypothetical examples were confusing. He gets very animated & worked up teaching admin, but in a distracting, non-interesting kind of way. His exam was difficult, but following the sample exam helped to determine what he was looking for.

Comment:
Quite eccentric. Provides opportunity for discussion in class through hypothetical fact patterns - they clarified the material and foreshadowed exam issues. Exam expecations are clear as he gives sample A answers from the past - I secured an A by mimicking those answers: clear outline, good headings, deep analysis. Strong students can excel here.

Doesn't answer questions in class, referred to the issue of sexual assault on campus as "the flavour of the month", definitely won't repeat himself if you ask him to (even if he was mumbling), syllabus is difficult to follow, missed class and only sent an email saying class was cancelled an hour after class was meant to start. Avoid.

What a guy. So random and his passionate con law outbursts are hilarious. Not afraid to call out students who are being rude. Expects a lot for exams . Go to the classes. The in class application activities were helpful.

Good prof overall. Don't expect to understand the lectures if you haven't done the readings. The readings are long and boring, but that's what Con law is - so no surprise.

The key to doing well with this professor is regurgitating his content word-for-word. Original thought or analysis will get you nowhere; his interpretation is gospel and there is no room for anyone else's opinion. He also appears to be friendly, but don't be fooled; he deserves his reputation as the most egotistical professor at Ottawa U.

Expects a high level of understanding from his students, but I have never learned as much in law school as I did in his con law 2 class. But is extremely insightful and really pushes students to grasp the bigger picture. If you do the readings, pay attention in class and participate in class exercises you'll do well.

Unhelpful with answers. Self-aggrandizing. Organizationally scattered. Difficult to discern what he wants of students. Condescending. Consider: how is a metaphor relating admin law to Bach going to be for this generation? That's how much he cares you understand.

I agree that he may be a brilliant mind...but it has gone to his head. His classes would be more enjoyable if he really wanted to engage the students not show off his ideas. I learned a lot for fear of being called on to analyze problems through his framework.

One of the most brilliant minds. He often seems to stray from the material, but then it all comes together at the end. I would recommend taking any of his course. You will never find a man more passionate about the law or eager to act as a mentor to his students.

Meglomaniac. **** any anything not Jewish. Horrible and inconsistent marker. May or may not know the subject matter, but won't waste his time and yours explaining it in class bcs he realizes that everyone would rather hear about his accomplishments and his one man crusade against various instances of anti-semitism (existing only in his mind).

This is completely irrelevant, I know, but I have to say a good word for the guy. Before law, he was a teaching assistant while doing his PhD in English at McGill in 1968. He taught my English 100 class. I considered him the most brilliant intellect I had met up to that time. 37 yrs later I still remember his wit and thought-provoking classes.

Probably the most egotistical, unhelpful & self-aggrandizing prof @ faculty. Not interested in teaching.Took every lecture as an opp to boast re personal accomplishments.Stated NO tuition $ should be used to help place students, but that as much $ as possible should be directed to profs for research.

Knows the material and really wants the students to work out problems. If you're looking for a teacher to tell you the answers to issues, find somebody else: If you want to think for yourself and make the arguments, then you'll enjoy his class.
