My favourite class in my freshman year. Dr Ricke is funny and his class is never boring, he had us do fun things to make literature so much more fun and exciting. 100% recommend him, his tests are easy if you have read the material.

Nothing in life is easy - Dr. Ricke's classes are well worth the work. For those who did not keep up with him, they did not belong in his class anyway. I remember my first class with him - only half the class showed the next day - those serious about concentrating. He's a mentor.

While I can admit that Dr. Ricke is certainly brilliant in terms of knowledge, he is literally all over the place in terms of organization and instruction. Some people have no problem with that, but personally, I need specific instruction. Do not have an opinion different than his, he will talk over you. Overall, i found him to be unpleasant.

Dr. Ricke is very funny and keeps you interested in class. He's a great man, just struggled with him as my professor. He's very unorganized and scattered, and he grades very tough. He also gives confusing feedback and some of the assignments were just busy work.

(World Literature) Basically, Dr. Ricke is brilliant. This is an ideal Lit class- just reading and hardly any other work except some study guides and a paper every couple of weeks. I enjoyed having an amazing prof who knows a ton and is a bit scatterbrained but will remember your name and take the time to talk to you if you track him down.

He likes to talk a lot. He is not very clear on what he expects from his students. Especially in his first paper he assigned. Quite a few students messed it up. He is also not very organized. A little more preparation would be helpful. Especailly in the syllabus, he only has a few things on there. Nothing specific.
