He is the most unorganized Prof EVER, you have no idea what he expects on tests/assignments even after he has explained it 100 times. He reads directly out of the book and assigns tests and assignments very last minute...classes are super boring...stay away if possible!

This prof is horrific. I only know a couple of people who actually enjoy his teaching. He's all over the place when teaching with no structure. I didn't learn anything in the 2 classes I took with him. He's also not very nice.

Took him twice. Once was horrid, the other great. Avoid 2000 level classes, his tests are frustrating. Higher 3000/4000 level classes are interesting and can go well if you are a good writer. Is like an encyclopedia of sociological theory and religion.

His classes are too full of information. He relies on the text for everything and does not dicuss anything. You would do better if you stayed home and read your book but he takes attendence. He is unclear about which chapter's are for his quizes and gives you 50 questions for a quiz worth 10%. AVOID IF YOU CAN!!

Nice personality but I didn't particularly like his teaching style. The syllabus was unclear and he often seemed unprepared for class. Very knowledgable in the subject though, and helpful to his students. Except to be expected to participate alot in class discussions!

Very into political activism and left wing politics and this is reflective in his course material. An alright prof, but there are a lot better. Avoid him if you have a choice, but if you need his class you could do worse at the Mount.

he is so disorganized and all over the place, very unpredictable with grading, lectures he will stand there and rant about unrelated things, lecture on one chapter for weeks then test you on 4 times the amount of material.

Dr. Tharamangalam is an excellent prof. He is a little unorganized, but he knows vast amounts about many subjects. He is an engaging professor and could be lecturing about a rubber boot but you would still be interested in what he had to say.
