If you have the chance to take him for photo one DO IT! He is an amazing teacher & a wealth of knowledge. You can't be afraid to speak up & ask him questions. He loves to help you, you just have to ask. His classes aren't easy but I learned the most from his photo classes alone. Be prepared to work & attend class. College isn't for slackers.

Jo is a great guy, really funny and helpful. I wouldn't describe him as a tough grader but he definitely does not give them away. You have to work hard and know why you did what you did. Don't be late in you assignments and attend class, because classes not only can be interesting, but useful. Ask him anything, he is always willing to help.

Great professor who is still very passionate about his work and photojournalism in general. He expects you to be the same, and will not give you a good grade for simply showing up---you have to work for it. YOU MUST STAND BY YOUR WORK. He will tear you apart if you can't explain why you did what.

He is worthless as a professor. I was so excited to take this class but he does not help at all. The class is not structured well, he is unclear as to what he wants, and he doesn't teach ANYTHING useful. His teaching is a waste of time and effort. I can't believe he's tenured. Don't take a class with him unless you have to.

He is a hard teacher but if you have a question he is more than willing to help you out. Attend class and ask questions and he will definitely like you. Make sure you do you work, after all photo in general isn't easy, so don't slack off. Overall he is a funny guy and really easy to talk to. Take his classes!

I agree that Joe is someone you either love or hate. You just have to get used to him, and STICK UP FOR YOURSELF. He attacks weakness; I learned this the hard way. Fight back,work hard, and don't take his moods too seriously. He really can help you.

Joe is a great teacher and really knows his stuff. The easiest way to get a good grade is to turn in great prints. If Joe explains something and you still don't understand it, then you must ASK!! The same goes for Bill. These guys are full of knowledge but sometimes you have to seek it out. Go to class and get a loupe!

Vitone seems to have genuine contempt for students who aren't seniors/his pets. Seems OK/funny in class but totally the opposite outside it. To be fair though, he does seem to be one of those profs students either LOVE or HATE, so you might really like him. I personally fall into the latter category.

Joe's awesome! Instruction is fun but the class can be difficult. It takes a ton of work to both shoot and print. Don't expect it to be an easy class but it's definetly worth the experience. Joe's totally helpful and very understanding. He expects a lot from his students so be prepared.
