If you did well in Algebra I and Algebra II in high school, you will pass this class with flying colors. His tests are easy if you know the information. Finite math is really easy, mostly stuff from high school with more advanced topics like linear programming and annuities thrown in at the end. He is a great professor and demonstrates his commitment to helping students who aren't good at math. HW isn't collected but he takes the quiz/test material directly from the HW. Will answer ANY question.

Despite him being a very nice guy and probably the easiest math teacher you can take...his final is worth 40% of your grade more than the rest of the math teachers I heard. Which is terrible bc you can bust your ass all semester not do so hot on the final and either fail the class or come out with something lower than a B. So no don't take him.

Torpey is a really good teacher, this is an easy A class. Tests are not hard at all, he gives you problems that will be on the test. Weekly quizzes but all are easy. Homework is given but he doesn't check, you just go over how to do problems. If you have a question on something he will go over it no problem! Great teacher!

mr. torpey is the nicest guy! he reminds me of a substitute from high school. i HATE math and i didnt understand anything but he's very helpful and will stay after or come early to go over stuff with you. nightly homework was kind of a lot but he never really grades it. easy, manageable class and very nice professor! take it with him if you can

such a nice guy. i hate hate hate hate HATE math and he makes it manageable. i literally needed help every day because i didnt understand anything and he went out of his way to help me. three tests and daily hw but its not bad and he gives study guides every exam. easy and nice professor- definitely take him if you can!

Mr. Torpey is one of the most helpful teachers I have ever had. He goes out of his way to make sure everyone understands the material.
