The best professor I have ever had. Probably one of the most brilliant physicists I have ever met. If you aren't a math/physics major you might struggle with the workload, but it's very normal for the department as a whole. One of the best educators to ever live.

This professor will teach well until halfway through the semester when he realizes he's behind on the material. Then you will drink out of a fire hose for the rest of the semester. Also, this professor is extraordinarily sexist in his grading, so if you're a woman, be prepared to receive much lower grades than your counterparts.

Crazy smart and knowledgeable about what he teaches. Doesn't need notes for lecture, because he does it from memory. His courses are tough, but he's fair. I learned more from him than any other professor at WVWC. Be prepared to study for tests, and make sure you do your HW.

Changed the way I view the world. Doesn't use notes in class, just starts with an equation and takes you where he wants to go. Alarmingly deep knowledge of physics. Comment's that say hes bad are A)not physics majors or B)expect to take a class and breeze through it. His Nuclear class made me change my future life plans, hes that good.

This professor changed my life, a truly amazing person. Doesn't need notes just gives it all from the top of his head. Won't give you a grade, but if you work for it (by practicing the problems he does in class) you should be fine.

I have the opposite opinion of Dr. Wiest that I have of some of the other professors in the department. He is competent in his field, but he cannot convey that knowledge to the students. I had him for five courses and struggled with all of them. I have finally mastered the material after years of independent study. He was very nice person.

I LOVE THIS MAN!!!! He's the cutes professor at Wesleyan. Come on who cannot love a man who gets so choked up about his lame jokes that he gets tears in his eyes. And you have to love the illustrations. I loved his class and he must have loved me too :)
