Rubongoya is an incredibly talented lecturer and can engage the class in a very captivating way. His grading scale is clear. If you understand the objectives of the assignment and complete the objectives well, he will reward you with an A. He doesn't reward sloppiness, which should be the norm. He is very personable available to help assignments.

Outside of class and even in smaller classes, he is rather nice, funny, and willing to go to the extra mile to help his students. Other than that, he can often make things far more difficult than needed and is an extremely tough, and sometimes unfair grader. Maybe get to know him, but try to avoid classes if possible

Tough professor, easy if you just do the work and pay attention in class. If you're not interested or have minimal knowledge on the subject in class you may struggle. He is incredible however at breaking down incredibly complex issues and making them easy to understand.

After 3 years, I can say he is one of the worst teachers i have ever had at this school. If it wasn't for the fact that I have to take poli 224, I would've dropped after day 1. You will have no idea what your grade in his class is until the end of the semester. He should be a history teacher, not a poli sic teacher.

Took 4 classes with the man, including seminar and a May Term. If you aren't a diligent, genuinely curious student and you're easily offended, don't take his class. Want to get into grad school? Do well in his classes and he'll repay you with an awesome recomm. Also, take a lighter load the semester you have seminar. You'll regret it otherwise.

Class was much more difficult than I expected. He crammed in almost half of the course material into the final 2 weeks of class, which made the final very hard. Very disorganized and overall the course was very boring. He does required students to produce good work, which makes the class marginally better than others I have had.

Rubongoya is by far the most difficult prof. I have ever encountered but I truely respect him. If he recognizes effort it will be rewarded. All ways pay attention or he will call you out and thats when you get made fun of. Great sense of humor. Changed my educational experiance. Took 3 classes of his.

This man was horrible. He made fun of everyone in class. I missed class because my fiance was leaving for basic training and I wouldn't see him for 3 months. I came back to class the next day and he picked at me for missing.

Great professor. Hardest class I've taken so far, but his tests make sure you know the material. Before this class I was die-hard pre-med. Now I'm planning to pursue a career dealing with Political Science!

Worst teacher I have ever encountered in years of college. Told me "this isn't high school anymore" when I asked him if there could be a review sheet because we never knew exactly what was going to be on the tests. He'd criticize and make fun of students. He knew what he was talking about but made it as difficult as possible. Don't take his class.

Its really a win loose with this guy. I tried very hard in his class but still got a C. However, his sense of humor is very entertaining so I don't regret taking it. I suggest only honors kids take this class, they seem to be the only ones who can do well in it!!

He is one of those professors you instantly respect when he walks in the room. Find an interest in the subject matter and the discussions will be enjoyable. His tests are hard, but he just makes you UNDERSTAND it, not just learn it for the test. Realize that he's helping you prepare for life. Put forth the effort cause he makes you EARN your A.

One of the best professors i have had at the college. Dont be rude, late, or look sloppy coming to class. do the work assigned and study. its work isnt that hard, but a lot people try to make excuses as to why they failed....any of his classes are well worth your time and energy.

Very easy to listen to b/c of voice. Pay attention in class and study alot from both notes and book. Don't get on his bad side or else your GPA will suffer greatly. Don't ever take more than one class at a time from him.
