I have had multiple Dr. King courses over the past four years and I must say he is an excellent professor. He is clear in what he expects of you and he will assist you if you seek his help. If you put forth the effort you will learn a lot. It is possible to learn a lot in the course because he is knowledgeable and effective in his teaching.

Comment:

Great teacher for CIE. Not only does he ask good questions and keep (willing) students engaged, but he rarely gives assignments. He only gives papers, which, granted, are pretty in-depth and lengthy, but very big on textual analyzation and pretty straightforward if you've done you're homework, i.e. read the books. Highly recommend.

Dr. King has been my adviser for three years now and I've taken three classes with him, and while it's true that he's awkward as hell, he's a really good man and a great professor. Definitely one of the history department's diamonds in the rough.

Dr. King is an inspiring professor. He is very talented but socially a bit awkward. He's also not very political at all and probably has paid for this during his career. He conceals a very sharp sense of humor.

Dr. King is the strangest person I have ever met. I can't look at him without laughing. He is so boring, and weird and very disrespectful. I would not recommend taking a class of his. He got mad at me one day because I went to the bathroom during his class. He said I caused him to become flustered and couldn't teach anymore. Weird.

he was an interesting character. When he wanted to relax he allowed us to lounge around the class or he would take us for walks. When he wanted to be serious we had to be serious. I liked his class it was fun we had a few food parties as well...he loved his food.

King is great, he helped me out a lot and went out of his way to do it. I think he likes students as much as he likes beer. Kudos to Dr. King. He is also funny, I was talking to him outside Olin one day and kept looking at hot women. He and I both oogled.

Dr. King is a decent fellow - he can be quite funny and I learned a lot in his class. But, he wasn't always clear about his expectations and is the worst pigeon-holer I have ever taken a class from! Get an A on your first paper and you'll be fine ;-)
